Any MINI drivers out there with travel systems?

Hi,

So I knew my car was impractical when I bought it but didn't realise how few pushchairs would fit in the boot. Quite keen for a travel system as we like the all-in-one idea and thought the Mamas and Papas zoom trio was good but I can't even get the chassis in my boot without taking the wheels off.

My husband has a huge boot so we could always swap cars if need be but it would be nice to have something that would fit in my car too.

Any words of wisdom?

I would actually really look at what type of pram you need. Most travel systems are too big for everyday life after a year so people change anyway.

Baby shouldn't stay in car seat long either so having pram car seat fits isn't really important as can just take baby out and pop in pram or sling and leave car seat in car

I would look at the babyzen range

Babyzen yoga - has nifty fold, does take car seat if really want. Large wheels if off road

Babyzen yoyo 0+ - folds tiny. Has newborn cocoon section, even fits as hand luggage. Will never need to change from larger pram even as toddler

Mini do a buggy now specifically to fit in the mini boot. I'll try and do a link

Phil and teds and baby jogger fit in if you pop off the side wheels. Of course so do the zapp and petit star - you can always use adapters.
Don't buy an umbrella stroller in the future if you like having a parcel shelf!

If you drive a lot I wouldn't go for anything that you need to pop wheels off to fit. Almost anything would fit if you took it apart enough but that's generally impractical.

I would go for an easywalker mosey. I think that fits as the easywalker mini does and the mosey is kind of an evolution of that. I suspect an armadillo flip might fit, I think the bee does. The Icandy raspberry probably does too. The babyzen yoyo 0+ is awesome but that depends when you will use your buggy, if it's smooth urban then great. I live in a city centre but it wouldn't work here for everyday, too many cobbles and broken pavements etc.

Fwiw if it was me I would buy a 0-4 car seat that stays in the car, possible one with a swivel function like the cybex sirona or britax dualfix. I did x3 dcs in a 3 door car for a while, making sure you're always parked in a place where you can open the door wide enough to take the baby seat out isn't all that easy.

I had an iCandy cherry. The chassis fits perfectly in the boot with the parcel shelf removed, and the seat bit folds totally flat and sits in the boot with the chassis.

The Maxi Cosi infant carrier slots onto the chassis with adaptors, and an Isofix base made getting baby in and out of the car simple.

Silver cross surf will fit as well.

Bugaboo Cameleon fits if you take the wheels off which is a 15 second job.

Easywalker Mosey fits and is fab.
The new M&P Armadillo Flip should fit even better. Its really neat folded and takes up less space than the Mosey.
I would be surprised if a Peach doesn't fit.

All car seats a faff to put in a three door mini (if that's what you have) but it is doable - we do it all the time. love our pram and frequently get compliments on it. Chassis, wheels and pushchair component all fit in boot fine - wheels just pop off. Can leave wheels on but means you need to move parcel shelf. When we were using the pram we needed to put pram bit in backseat. This didn't last for long as our DS is quite big and would wake himself up battering his arms and legs off the side of the pram so we moved to buggy on its flat setting quite early.

We walk a lot and it has been great for that. I tend to walk rather than use the car now - helped with sleeps for DS and weight loss for me! Also couldn't face taking it to bits (which is in fact super easy) in the early months when I was on my own with DS. Now at 7 months I manage it no bother.

Don't mini do there own branded pram? I'm sure the sales rep told me that when we took one out for a test drive

Ps Also found I used a sling or baby carrier when just nipping into a shop or going shopping etc with the car as the wee darlings are not supposed to be in car seats too long or they risk plagiocephaly so having a car seat that fits on the pushchair chassis wasn't essential for us.

I have a bugaboo cameleon and the chassis fits in the boot, you just need to click the back wheels off which is super simple. I have a maxi cosi baby seat in the front seat with the airbag off, and never have passengers in the back, so I often just fold the back seats down and wing the pram in the back without having to dewheel. However now dc2 is on ots way I'm guessing I'll need to say Cheerio to my beloved mini x

Not sure if you got one but I had a babystyle oyster and it fitted in my mini.
