New Mum best Pram/travel system

Hi all,

I am a first time mum with baby due end of Jan and just wondering if anybody can offer any info re prams/travel systems.

We had originally picked and purchased the Cosatto Giggle travel system but after a lot of bad press and a product recall lost faith in the product and returned with full refund.
We now feel as though we are back to square one and have lost so much faith now have no idea what to go for?

We want something which is sturdy and able to be used on lots of different road surfaces but not too heavy.
Reasonably priced package or seperates
and obviously confort and safety

Any thoughts?

What's your budget?

Were happy to pay up to a max of about 550 but for that would ideally like car seat and all pram attachments the giggle we had picked was coming in at about 389 for the whole travel system but happy to pay a little more

if possible would like something that can be both forward and rear facing with a decent sized basket and not too complicated to put up and down to fold to put in the car.

I read approximately 1000 reviews and the stand out things were that if want a long lasting pram it needs to be lightweight. If it isn't, within the year you'll be getting a maclaren stroller.

I went for the baby jogger city mini with a carrycot for the first while. I'm still using it 2 and a bit years on so well chuffed with that.

I've got a muum, it's alright, it's robust but it's really not that light or small at all, The parent facing fold is useful though and it takes a buggyboard really nicely.

It would be an easywalker mosey for me. The joie chrome is also nice and very good value but depending on the surfaces you're talking about may not be quite the right thing. The versa is great but it's big, the vista is even bigger and the oyster 2 seems pretty good (you may need the air tyre kit as an extra). Personally I wouldn't get a bee for any kind of surfaces beyond good pavement.

Thanks guys! I shall have a look at all of the above and get my reading head just all very confusing and feel like having made the wrong decision once over want to get it right this time.
Surfaces wise we are going to Portugal when baby will be 4/5 months old it's quite hilly and lots of cobbled streets so something that can cope with that apart from that just the usual town/park surfaces. ??

Jane rider? We've just bought the trider but either look good and cope with all terrains. Basket is bigger on the rider as its 4 wheeler. Not the lightest but not too bad, ridiculously easy fold and parent or forward facing takes a second to switch. Really impressed with the build quality.
