Pushchair for big baby?
11
Gerty1002 · 13/09/2014 07:24
My 12mo DS is outgrowing his travel system - he is on 98th centile for height and weight, has been since birth. He is the size of a sturdy two year old and I need a foldable pushchair that will last size-wise and is decent quality. It needs to come under £100.
Any ideas please?

Possibly should have said 'big toddler' but I haven't gotten used to that idea yet

Could you look for a second hand Maclaren? Pretty robust (the XLR lays totally flat too for naptimes) but would probably need to be second hand to get for under £100.

Baby jogger city mini have big seats, you could get a second hand one for around the £100 mark. I am sure others will be along soon with other ideas for you

My ds1 was the same. I found it was easiest to go to a pram store with lots on display and then try him in them. It was really surprising how many were so small.

I ended up with a stroller from Mothercare in the end but not sure it's much help as he is 11 soon so a bit of date.

Try a red kite zumi, it's good quality for the price and my 2.5yo old has loads of space around her. Ds was 98th centile and he also would have been fine in it.

I should have mentioned I'd prefer umbrella fold for storage purposes, but I'm struggling to find one big enough. Have looked in babies r us and mamas and papas.

My 4 year old fits in a maclaren....

M&P buggies are tiny!
I'd look at a BabyJogger City Mini, then try and find one second hand. My tall (91-98th centile) son still sometimes went in it at 3.8.

I had a mychild orbital which had a big seat and laid flat.

The joovy groove is pretty roomy, my 4yo can sit comfortably in ours if she needed to.
