Any Advice on Twin Pram for Newborns?

Hi All,
We're expecting Twin's late August, early September and we're really excited about it :-) But we live in a 2nd floor flat and need idea's for an ideal pram for the future rugrats:-) We would like a pram so the babies face us and is light. We're on a budget, who isn't.... Has anyone any idea's of a suitable pram?

Thanks for any advice :-)

Rach

That's tricky.

I don't think there is lightweight parent facing twin pram

My recommendation would be ditch twin pram idea. Get a babyzen yoyo 0+ and a boba 4g sling. Sling one baby and pram other. Maybe two slings so if both parents around no pram needed

Otherwise the nipper v3 twin. It's large wheel so could bounce up stairs and is lightweight. But doesn't parent face unless you add carrycots but that would make very heavy

Personally the sling thing never worked for me. I had a donkey at first which is either lightweight or cheap but changed it for a baby jogger city mini twin which has been fantastic, it's not later facing but you can get carry cots and it has a single hand fold and is light.

As for getting them physically up and down the stairs, you'll be able to carry them together for a long time, mine are nearly three and I could still get them up a couple of flights of stairs. Once they are mobile you'll need a playpen / cot / somewhere safe if you have to take them up and then go back for the buggy.

That should say neither not either!

That's great advice from everyone, thank you (smile)

Did you use a carry cot, backwards facing until about 6 months? (Graco soft carry cot)?? I've just been looking it up but not sure if it'd fit the baby jogger city mini twin, really love the reviews for the pram you have so might get one.

The city mini has its own carrycots, or you can use the graco ones, they do fit on the bjcmd, attached by plastic clips onto the d rings. There are a good few bj compact carrycots on the used market now, graco soft cots are sometimes hard to find but cheaper usually.

It doesn't parent face but the red kite twini is budget friendly and very light for a double, 10.something kg if I remember rightly. Graco soft cots would also fit on I think. I haven't used one but I have had the single version, the zumi, since last October and it is lasting well and nice to use.
