Replacement for Stokke Xplory; micralite superlite or Maclaren quest?

DS will be 9mo when we go on holiday. Love the Stokke but impossible to take on a plane. Also since we've moved from the city to the country it's become a PITA. Want something lightweight and collapsible that will be good on the plane but also countryside friendly. I'm also a sucker for something pretty. Anyone any advice?

Oh, I used to love my XPlory (but we walked everywhere so rarely tried to fold it or take it up stairs). I researched extensively before taking my daughter (15 months) down to Oz because I didn't really want to check whether an expensive pushchair travelled well.

A micralite was fairly high on my list. Then I found a quirky German pushchair called Takeoff by ABC Design. I bought it from a (Swiss?) firm on Ebay who happily shipped. Not sure about Easyjet etc, but it folded down to the size of a fat suitcase so BA and QANTAS happily let me pop it in overhead lockers. It was super light. It (sort of) coped with a canal towpath.

I have to say the most useful bits kit I took abroad were a fabric highchair (so child is restrained in just about any seat - popped up a couple of phone books) and a hipseat (so you just carry your child on your hips).

A Baby Jogger City Mini or GT - not pretty but they are practical and do what you need.

We have taken xplory on aircraft loads of times. Bought travel bag for it. Just wheeled it to oversize or bagged it at the gate.

I've used the Micralite Fastfold Classic. Really loved this pushchair and have no hesitation in recommending it. Have taken it on many foreign trips... Spain, USA etc. It looks good, is easy to fold down, lightweight and you can take it on a beach (just need to tip it up and use the back wheels). It's got a good sunshade and I think you can buy a travel bag for it (never felt we needed one).
