Someone please help; me and DH are confused!!

I'm desperately in need of pushchair advice because me and DH are going round in circles.

We don't have a big income and paying out hundreds and hundreds and hundreds is impossible for us. We were looking at various Hauck travel systems as they were more in our price range but most reviews we read were very negative and focused on their poor quality.

We are now thinking about getting something 2nd hand (as much as it upsets me that my baby won't have its own fresh pram) but if that's what we need to do in order to get a better quality system then that's what we'll do. But we have absolutely no idea what's a good brand and what isn't? Whenever we start looking we get overwhelmed by all the different makes and options etc that we just leave the shop.

Can someone please advise on what brands are recommended?

Thank you Smile

Have you considered a look at the mamas and papas factory shops? My nearest in Huddersfiled next to the factory but there is one near Stoke on Trent. Not far from Leicester down he A50? I got my Luna in Huddersfield. A few scrapes but it was £50!!!! They have lots of different ones, fully working etc but maybe factory refurbished at much lower prices than M&P stores.

A woman is selling an OBaby ZeZu on ebay - she bought it brand new 7 weeks ago (for £300), has only used the pushchair twice and never used the car seat. She is asking £160 for it Smile I'm currently arranging to go and view it......feeling much, much happier and more positive Smile

Another vote for the M&P Zoom. It's so easy to fold up and down, and has the option to be forward or parent facing. Only £250 it was a bargin!

I've sold loads of immaculate pretty much as new pushchairs, they definitely exist and you're doing the right thing going to view first :-)

Great . Let us know how you get on .

bishboschone · 02/02/2014 23:49

I just googled it , it's very very similar to mothercare one.. Don't worry if it has a few scratches , they get scratched very easily getting in and out of the car . Hope you like it .

Just got back and pushchair is in the boot Smile

It's so, so lovely and in immaculate condition!!!
It looks amazing and I'm sooooo happy with it Smile

It's so light and so easy to use and just generally perfect for what I wanted.

Thanks to everyone who gave me reassurance that 2nd hand doesn't always have to be a bad thing Smile

I have a mothercare Xcursion with car seat from dd1 I want to get rid of. It's in perfect condition and was used for no more than 6 months. Only reason not using it for dd2 is this time we're in a position to afford a better brand so have bought a bugaboo chameleon. Pm me if you're interested.

Tea1Sugar · 09/02/2014 18:04

Forget that. Now read the above!

Have a look at the Baby Jogger Versa (theres some fab deals around) or even getting a City Mini with carrycot. Also look at the Graco Evo and the Joie Chrome. TBH Ebay is your friend. I have sold nearly new car seats for a few pounds. Work out what you want, and then watch and wait. A second hand Oyster, or Cherry could serve you well.
