Is there a buggy that can go on sand?

As above? I have a holiday booked and will have to walk on sand. I don't want to be that person dragging a stroller behind me Grin

Bugaboo does. You flip the handle so the big wheels are at the front. Works v well.

Sling?

fizzly · 03/01/2014 23:09

We used to have a micralite and it was excellent on sand with the front wheels fixed. Think we used our Phil & Teds on sand too but for some reason can't remember to be sure! Mountain buggy surely can. If you can fix the wheels you should be ok.

greeneyes1978 · 03/01/2014 23:10

The 3 wheeler ones with air filled wheels do.

AliceMum09 · 03/01/2014 23:12

Yep, anything with fairly large air-filled tyres will be ok. I used to have a Britax Trekker 3 wheeler (they don't make them any more, but it was a great pram) that was great on the beach.

outnabout nipper is good on sand and all round

bountyicecream · 03/01/2014 23:15

Mountain Buggy Terrain is fab everywhere. But eye wateringly expensive. Probably my best purchase though (did a lot of running with it so needed a good one)

BikeRunSki · 03/01/2014 23:18

Oh yep. Nipper 360. I love it. Sad that dd wants to walk everywhere.

McPheezingMyButtOff · 03/01/2014 23:19

Bugaboo with all terrain tyres, or a Stokke. Both a bit large for holiday though I guess?

CointreauVersial · 04/01/2014 00:20

Any three-wheeler with pneumatic tyres.

Mikkii · 04/01/2014 07:10

We have a Mamas&Papas chassis with air filled tyres, that is good on sand (or anything else).

Unfortunately, it is huge and doesn't fold down well.

thekitchenfairy · 04/01/2014 07:13

Micralite, fab buggy, larger wheels at back so good even on soft sand.

GlitterFingers · 04/01/2014 07:59

Oh thanks guys I forgot I started this thread Grin. Loads of suggestions to look at. I was going on the bigger the tyre the better but you guys have confirmed it and fixed wheels at the front.

The mountain buggy terrain has a fixable wheel at the front which can also be set to 'free'. This makes it great around town too I don't work for them, honest

PotteringAlong · 04/01/2014 08:48

Don't even attempt it! Get a sling! So much better (and cheaper!). Google sling library and where you live and you will be able to go and try them sand hire one for your holiday.

Tiggywunkle · 05/01/2014 00:29

Anything with bigger air type tyres - Nipper is fab, the Baby Jogger Elite and Summit are great. The iCandy Peach Jogger was great.....that type of pushchair should work.

fusspot66 · 05/01/2014 23:02

A buggy is great for carting your picnic, loungers, windbreak, bucket, spades and woody jumpers along British beachesGrin

NoComet · 05/01/2014 23:06

My original mountain buggy did, air filled tyres, three fixed wheels.

I'd have loved the modern ones you can set to swivel too. I was always destroying stupid cardboard display stands in out tiny Woolworth's. (DD1 is almost 16Sad)
