Double easy fold away pushchair for two heavy toddlers?

I have two ds, one is 20 months the other is nearly 3. The 3 year old walks well but I still want the option of a double buggy for longer outings and holidays etc. We currently have a Phil & Ted's explorer and I hate it as it is heavy and the boys seem a bit squished now they are getting a bit older. My 3 year old is tall and sturdy (nearly 3 stone) so I was hoping for advice on good double buggies for toddlers / young children. Preferably ones that fold away easily and compactly. Thanks for any wisdom in advance Smile

I have the Baby Jogger City Mini Double, its great for folding , you just pull the handle and it unfolds ( same as the single)
Plus it folds away very compactly , I had a tiny Pugeout 107 and it fitted in that boot.
It is very sturdy ,well made quality product, I like the side by side factor for the kids seeing things too rather than being squished in on some of the other brands .
The seats recline great for naps, I also like the extra large canopy / hood if you get caught in a rain shower with out the raincover they are long enough to keep the kids dry x
My toddler fits in it great x

BJCM double for sure. Folds flat with one pull, is roomy, comfy, looks good, great hood...great purchase.

Thanks very much ladies, it does fit the bill, especially in relation to weight but it's quite costly for an occasional use buggy. Any good cheaper alternatives?

What about looking for a secondhand BJCM double?

I would 2nd the second hand suggestion. We only just sold ours and it was immaculate, got £150 for it. There's so many out there!

I've been looking on eBay and folks are asking for £220 + for them second hand which I think is a bit steep. I'll keep an eye out though as they do look good Smile

Miaow you made me smile - my two don't like being in too close proximity either, the younger is getting his final teeth through and a bit bitey and the older just likes pestering his younger brother. It's all fun and games! I guess that's where the tandems are handy as they can't attack one another but my Phil and Teds is just too cumbersome and heavy. I have a Stokke single buggy which I adore so thinking a buggy board on the back for a wee while until I can get one in like. Thanks for the advice x

To be honest your budget will limit you as some of the lighter tandems and doubles are newer eg. Oyster Max, Apple 2 Pear, BJCM.

Have a look for an Air Buggy Mimi double or even an Easywalker Duo. The latter are larger but they do fold fairly compactly. Occasionally cheap TFK Twinner Twist Duo's come up on Ebay because no one really knows about them.
