Mamas and Papas Sola - thoughts and will it fit?

Hello,

I'm new to all this pushchair business as only 15 weeks pregnant with baby number 1. I've been having a read online and been pretty overwhelmed by the crazy choice out there so went to some shops today to have a look at some in person.

I was quite impressed with the mamas and papas sola as it seems like it does what we need and seems good value. I also know a few ladies who have it and love it.

Just wondering if anyone on here has any experience with it/would recommend etc? Also, any idea if it will fit in the boot of a nissan micra? There's a really good deal on at the moment where it comes with car seat etc so am tempted to go for it, but it's such a bit decision it's hard to know whether to go for it or not! Any advice/thoughts much appreciated!

In my experience, anything made by M&P is entirely style over function and won' t last. Experience is based in 2 x pushchairs, 1 x highchair and a babywalker thing.

The best thing to do is to take your car and try the Sola in. Its a big of a chunk of a pushchair when folded though. Just remember you may wish to put a changing bag and shopping into your boot as well.
I think I would wait a bit longer and try out several options. The new Oyster Gem would be fab for a small boot for example.

Thanks ladies. A bit gutted as I was so chuffed to find one that seemed like a good option at a reasonable price and with lots of good reviews. It is just so overwhelming! At least it is early days and we have plenty of time to decide on things. I will look into the Oyster Gem, thanks Tiggywunkle!

The best advice I can give you is to get off the high street ie M&P, Mothercare and head for a couple of good independent nursery shops - I say a couple because they will probably stock different brands especially if they are nearby. Go and have a good look and a good play and take your time.

I have this and it's fine. Fits in Honda jazz but we did buy smaller pushchair for holidays when DD got a bit bigger.
I found the cosy toes was a bit rubbish when she was tiny but I didn't want to pay for carrycot.
Had it 2.5 years now and no mechanical problems but I do feel it's a bit overpriced for the quality. However, I think it will last until she grows out of it and doesn't need it, around 4 years I'm guessing.
My cousin got an uppababy I think it's called, looks fab.
