New System or Used Norton Storm? Dilemma...

I posted in chat and have been directed here...hope you don't mind. :)

My parents have offered to buy me a complete travel system of my choice, but my SIL has offered me her 2 year old Norton Storm.

Should I get a new travel system, or ask my parents to invest the money elsewhere and use the Norton?

I haven't heard of a Norton Storm so not sure what they are like. But if you are genuinely happy with it and it is suitable for your lifestyle then you could go with that and ask your parents to put the money towards something else. If there is another travel system that you much prefer or have your heart set on though then don't feel like you have to accept it! Have you been and tried out a few anyway to get a feel for what you want/need?

I would go for the norton for the first year and then ask your parents to buy you a stroller or something smaller (which you will probably want).

People only really tend to use the big travel systems for a shortish time and as long as it fits your requirements (and the car seat fits your car and is decent) I would go with the offer.
