Phil & Teds "new" universal car seat adaptor

I was just looking on the Precious Little Ones website for a couple of accessories for my P&T Explorer (with which I have a love/hate relationship) and I came across these:
www.preciouslittleone.com/product-information/30/28301/phil-and-teds-universal-car-seat-adaptors/
Which they say fit onto all P&T pushchairs and fit loads of car seats, including our Maxi-Cosi cabriofix.
But I can't find any further information about them ... And having had trouble with P&T before, I am not willing to fork out over £35 plus p&p for something which doesn't work well.
Anyone got them?

I know people who have the traditional maxi-cosi/p&t adaptor, but these look much neater and easier... If they work (grrrr don't get me started on the stupid Explorer hood...)

What do you like about the explorer? I'm not a big p and t fan but if it works for you then it works. They do look better than the metal bar type ones.

Currently i have a smyths mobi tandem, which came with maxi cosi adaptors, it takes the seat parent facing on top or bottom. Depends on the age of your children how well the whole thing works but I do love it and believe it holds its own against the much more expensive tandems I have previously used such as the icandy peach blossom, jane twone, britax b dual etc. If you need something terrain though it would be useless Grin

I have the big metal adapter for a maxi cosi car seat and these look much better! I only just bought my adapter too and bet you'll be able to pick them up for next to nothing now these have come out.

Need the P&T for muddy walks and it goes on beach nearly every day in summer... Also wanted something for town, so went for P&T over side by side Mountain Buggy or Zland Rover.
Not easy decision though as like you, not big fan of the P&T.

I think you are going to have to get some to try out ;) Worst case you can return them :)

P&T finally got in touch - v glad I didn't buy the adapters as apparently they don't fit on the Explorer - mistake by Precious Little Ones.
Boo. The actual adaptor is so clumsy and big by comparison.
Oh well...
I do wish I could just have my old Baby Jogger magically turn into a tandem. It is so much neater, more stable, the hood works brilliantly, it folds so much more easily, it has pockets for stuff and a better basket, i dont need to carry around all the faffy little bits - everything about it is better!

Glad you found out. Well done!

scarecrow22 · 06/08/2013 20:55

thirty - I thought it was a fault with my hood. or with me! Does yours comeboff as if it is too wide? It's driving me nuts and actually dangerous as (a) keeps.nearly gouging baby DS's face and (b) I'm.worried about him.getting burned when it falls away and exposes him.
Have you got any solution? Did P&T give any advice?

Tiggywunkle · 08/08/2013 00:06

The hood - I was shown how to hold the hood and press the ends towards each other - a bit like a chest expander to bend the ends in....I havent actually tried it though!

Browsing thru some of these threads re P&T travel system and noticed someone saying the new 'TS Clip 26' doesn't fit the Explorer. I too asked P&T and the answer was it does! The new travel system for Maxi Cosi Cabrio/Pebble fits the Dot, Navigator, Classic V2 and Explorer. Previous models to this and you need the bigger TS 4. Hope this helps and am confident this info is correct!

That is weird - here is the email I was sent by Phil&Teds customer service team a couple of weeks ago:

"Thanks for your e-mail.

Unfortunately the adaptors you have seen for the maxi cosi are not compatible with your explorer model, I have notified precious little one of the mistake here.

The adaptor you need to fit the maxi cosi to your explorer buggy is the TS4 - philandteds.com/uk/Buy/drive/travel-systems/dot-navigator-travel-systems/TS4-Maxi-Cosi-Cabriofix-and-Pebble?selection=TS4"

But now I have looked up TS26, it definitely looks like they will fit on the Explorer. Very confused!
