Buying online and returns from John Lewis

Has anyone bought a buggy and returned it after ordering online from John Lewis?

I think the Baby Jogger City Versa is pretty much perfect for what i want on paper but I'd like to see it in person and try it in my car boot and nowhere near me stocks it.

If you have returned a buggy, how much did it cost to return? I'm thinking it would be probably cheaper than the cost of travelling to a stockist.

I presume you should be able to return it to your local John Lewis whether they stock it or not.

Unfortunately I don't have a local John Lewis, I wish I did... I'm in Northern Ireland and I've checked all the local stockists on the Baby Jogger website.

Oh no, that makes things rather more difficult.
John Lewis do free returns for some items, maybe call and ask what their policy is. Otherwise, tbh, I would think it would be very expensive to post a buggy back.

I'm pretty sure it's free returns - they will send a courier to collect free of charge if the item was initially delivered by courier. I ordered a fairly heavy & pricey baby swinging chair from them which I then decided not to keep - just emailed customer services and they arranged a courier to collect it. So I think it would be exactly the same with a pushchair. Their customer services department have always replied to queries within 24 hours when I have emailed them, so you could do that for peace of mind.

The versa box is tiny, you'd have to take pics and be very careful when you unpacked to make sure you could repack it. Return post can be done economically as long as you aren't tied to a particular carrier, find out from JL what their policies are on this most defintely. 15-20 pounds ish i would say

Sounds like it will be free returns to be honest. I had to repack a versa.. honestly, the box is dinky, you'd never believe there's a pushchair in there!

Ooh, that sounds promising size wise, I was wondering if we'd still manage weekends away with all the baby equippment when we struggle to fit everything in the car now! Does it come with wheels off and seat off to make it as flat as possible?

If you don't mind answering another question, did you use one off road at all? Mostly I'll be using it on paved paths but there's a couple of non-paved/ forest type paths I'm hoping it'll be able to cope with. The Which? review gives it full marks but it'd be great to hear personal experiences...

Hi, yes the wheels and seat are all off, it's very very small when dismembered like that. Dismantled I mean... The carrycot will obviously add to the space it takes up in the car if you're talking about using it with a newborn.

I didn't use mine off road really but lots of rough urban surfaces and cobbles, if you're talking about occasional and fairly mild offroad use then I'm confident it would cope fine.

Great! If it can cope with cobbles then it shouldn't have any problems on the paths I'm thinking of.
