Improving brakes on Maclaren triumph

I've got an old Maclaren triumph with the dodgy brakes that you kick to one side (and which then fail to lodge in the wheel). Does anyone know if I can get these improved somewhere? It's a good pushchair but I am worried about using it like that.

Oh, no answer. But same problem I think, which I've had since I bought mine new but cheap off the internet. So shamelessly place marking I'm afraid.
