Can someone quickly explain the difference between the jogger city mini 3wheel and the 4wheel version. Thanks

Other than the obvious extra wheel, what are the main differences? I know the 4wheel is slightly more expensive but couldn't really tell the difference in JL. Is the 4wheel sturdier with toddler in it? Does it fold better? I only looked for a moment and didn't get the chance to fold them both but I need to make my mind up today.

Thank you so much, milk. Though tbh I'm no further forward after reading that as it just seems to list stuff about each rather than tell me that one is better than the other for such and such a reason. Just wondered if anyone had seen or used both and could tell me about weight and fold and such.

Weight and folded size stats are on that link, as are the seat measurements (although I can see back of seat width has a type for the cm3).

The obvious extra wheel IS the main difference. The 4 wheel is apparently less tippy feeling, more stable. The 3 wheeler however isn't excessively tippy. It's a personal preference imo.

Thanks, Ihateparties! The link confused me even more because it just showed them to be so similar. I wondered why they make both if so similar so wanted to know what they felt like to push and if there was a notable difference in stability.

I personally hate all 3 wheeled pushchairs... don't know why.

I don't like 3 wheelers either really.. I think there is a noticable difference in stability. I also prefer the britax b agile over the city mini and the b motion over the cmgt (none of the small bjs have suspension and it really bothers me) though so feel free to ignore me, i'm in the minority!

Thanks both. I had the original phil&teds nearly 8yrs ago and didn't seem to have a problem with 3wheels then. I know dome people hate the P&Ts but 8yrs ago it seemed revolutionary when a double was needed plus we imported it from NZ so they weren't everywhere like they were 2yrs later! Though with air tyres, I'm guessing it handled differently from the bjcm will.
Just want something lighter than my vista which has been great but it too big and clunky for a 2yr old. I want something lighter and easier.

Personal preference. I never had a 3 wheeler before my baby jogger as I thought they would be tippy. They're not, they're very sturdy. I wouldn't mind a go at the 4 wheeler though but they're pricey even second hand.

Yes, I guess I wax wondering what was do much better about the 4wheeler that justified the huge price difference.

I'm not a fan of 3 wheelers either because of the tippy thing but I have a BJCMGT and don't find the stability to be an issue at all.

I have had them both and the extra wheel is the fundamental difference. It does make the pushchair more stable but really the BJCM3 is only more tippy in three circumstances - when using a car seat, carrycot or pushing one handed. Personally I would say the extra wheel is worth the difference. The BJCMGT is a 3 wheeler but its much much more stable and grounded.

For a toddler I wouldn't really say there's a big difference IMO. I definitely noticed when trying the 4 wheeler with a carrycot as the weight is so much higher up with the 3 wheeler.

Tiggy, I discounted the GT as it didn't seem much smaller or lighter than my vista. Maybe I was too quick to do so? I am really looking for a small, chuck in the car, use for school run and take to Cyprus on holiday next month. I still have my P&T for when we go on woodland walks and stuff so not too worried about off road.

I decided on one of these two as heard lots of good reviews but maybe I'm making a mistake. Hoping 3wheels will be ok as I've just seen it in toys r us on special offer at £191 which seems pretty good. I think we were about to pay £250 from John Lewis.

The fundamental difference between the BJCM and the BJCMGT is the wheels. Yes, there are other differences and the GT has more features, but the weight difference is the wheels. If you dont need off road, dont need to use the carrycot or car seat (as you dont with your 2 year old) then buy the BJCM3 :)
The Vista feels a much bigger pushchair all round - folded and open. If you want an easier, lighter weight pushchair then you wont go far wrong with a BJCM.

My vista has been great, really fab. I much preferred it to the cam which I sold fairly quickly. Now I just want something light and easy to see us through my last ever 18mths of pushchair use!! After almost 10yrs and 4kids I never thought I'd be able to say that. This bit of the site is so useful and it was a post from you which made me check out the vista before it was in JL etc. So glad I did.
