Hi, i am a first time 'mum to be' can anyone recommend which type of pram is best to buy. A friend suggested one where the baby can either face you or be turned to look out, rather than a traditional type. Any suggestions on makes, models etc would be a great help. Thanks.

Bugaboo Bee or Baby Jogger Versa if you want parent facing. They both fold very easily and in one piece as opposed to the Bugaboo Cameleon which you have to take apart.

Think about your family plans...ie do you want the children close together in age or will they be many years apart...we have a two year gap and as a result had to sell my first pushchair to get a new one that can be used as a single or double...we have an icandy peach blossom which you can have the child facing you or away from you and use it as a double or a single! I found a site called best buggy that was really useful! Grin HTH!

Sorry should've added we have just had our second child so our first child isn't quite up to long walks etc and we have a little baby too so for me a double pushchair was needed as didn't want to carry baby in a sling/carrier!! The age gap is two years!

Will you be getting buses/trains? Going off road? In and out of the car? Doing the weekly shop with the pram? All these questions would bring about a different suggestion.

You need to have a think about what you're going to use your pram for (apart from carrying the baby!).

Look at the Bugaboo Bee, Cameleon and Buffalo; the iCandy Cherry, Peach, Strawberry and Apple 2 Pear; the Uppababy Vista; the Baby Jogger Versa; the Babystyle Oyster and Oyster Gem; the MeeGo Pramette; the MyChild Floe and Pinto; the Easywalker MINI and the Britax Affinity to start you off. There's a range of budgets there, but if you like something in particular, come and ask more questions. :)
