Baby Jogger City Mini called a Sidewalk?

We have bought a second hand double pushchair off ebay and it has just been delivered. The ebay listing said Baby Jogger City Mini Double, but this pushchair is called a Sidewalk. I've never even heard of these existing, so looked it up online and there are differences, but am I right in thinking it has been described incorrectly? Or is there something I don't know about both models being valled a City Mini? I can't seem to find any other listings, completed or live, using the term Sidewalk.

I suspect we have bought the inferior model for the City Mini price but just need to be sure before we start the complaints procedure. Does anyone have a clue because I'm feeling quite confused!

The sidewalk is the citymini but exclusive to kiddicare. Its the same buggy but different colour wheels if i remember rightly i have a sidewalk. It really is a city mini.

FatimaLovesBread · 05/06/2013 20:13

They are slightly different but not much, there's a comparison here

I suppose it depends on what you've paid for it, if you've paid more thinking it's a City mini and it's more than you should have paid for a sidewalk then it's a bit devious

FatimaLovesBread · 05/06/2013 20:16

Actually, if the list said City mini and they've sent a sidewalk you definitely have case for complaint. Even if there is little difference, one being marketed as the other is incorrect. Could you link to the listing you bought from?

Beamae · 05/06/2013 20:29

www.ebay.co.uk/itm/140984439101?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649

This is the link to the listing. The reason we went for it is that it said City Mini Double and it said less than 12 months old, so we assumed that it was the newer model with the upright seating and firm backs.

Our fault I suppose for not asking any questions, but we came across it as it was nearly ending and just went for it based on the description. It only had the one photo as well, or we'd have seen the logo was different.

It's tricky because if there were other completed listings for the Sidewalk double I'd be able to do a price comparison, so I'm not sure if we paid a fair price or not.

I've just looked at Fatima's link and the differences are significant enough that I would start a Significantly Not As Described case with ebay.

It was very misleading of the seller not to state at all in the listing that it was a Sidewalk.

Tiggywunkle · 05/06/2013 22:58

It is devious really....but the Sidewalk is still an excellent pushchair. In your shoes, I would try to get a refund for mis-described but the differences are not enough to stop me using it. They are very similar.

StatisticallyChallenged · 06/06/2013 10:32

I would be annoyed by that tbh. We have the new version and specifically decided on that for the rigid seats and the better basket access.

For future reference the logo on the new one is positioned differently. instead of two separate ones where each pair of legs sit there is a single central logo at the bottom front. easiest way to tell visually.

Good tip, StatisticallyChallenged! Thank you.

I have opened a case with ebay. Things like the different chassis, fabric and stitching are not so important to me. But the upright chairs are vital. My twins hate going in their 360 nipper because of the reclined chairs and tight harness straps. They want to sit upright and are happy as larry in their maclaren singles. Hopefully the seller will be kind and offer us a refund!

fingers crossed. I managed to wangle a brand new one for 314 so wound up getting that as there weren't many of the new version on eBay really

Locketjuice · 06/06/2013 13:16

I just got my brand new bjcm double for £245! Smile

Beamae · 06/06/2013 13:28

Where did you two find these bargains?!

StatisticallyChallenged · 06/06/2013 13:37

I got mine through kiddicare using their price match.

www.baby-kit.co uk has the 2013 version for 335. you have to email them for the price. then forward the email to [email protected]. They match plus give you 25% of the difference. It was 420 on their own website

Locketjuice · 06/06/2013 13:39

Boots have the double for 335, use BBB30 gets another £30 off and got £50 on my advantage card in points.. So technically paid £295 with £50 to buy some bits from there Smile

StatisticallyChallenged · 06/06/2013 13:51

boots offer is new Grrrr ...ideally would have got the purple

Locketjuice · 06/06/2013 13:53

That's what I got, as kiddicare don't stock the purple double.. Very happy! Smile

StatisticallyChallenged · 06/06/2013 13:56

forgot I am also due cash back from quidco for it.

Beamae · 06/06/2013 17:05

We have arranged a refund with the seller, who didn't list it wrongly on purpose. So all good in the end!
