Stokke Xplory - similar by other brands?

Basically, I want baby as high up and close to me as possible, without have to pay QUITE so much... Possible?!

The Mamas and Papas Mylo is quite high but I haven't heard a good thing about it.
I have to be honest, I have an Xplory, and I think the height is completely over rated. Plus you have extra to lift an older child. I really hate the Xplory...and I think there are much easier to use pushchairs. A baby doesn't have good eye sight for ages to see you, then they are likely to sleep for most of your outings for the first year - 18 months! As an adult you can see them just as easily lower down TBH.

Joolz day is high but not cheap either!

Uppababy (clue in the name) - US brand that gets brilliant reviews, the Vista is Which? best buy - but they're v big (wheelbase) and fairly heavy so depends on your lifestyle if would work.

Another not bothered by height one here but there are things.. I have a brio smile (which is a version of the Vista in reality, they share the same basic frame) and can confirm it is pretty high, just measured and the seat is 60cm from the ground. No idea how that compares to the Stokke.

If you really want the baby up high as close to you as possible for less money I'd carry it

Ok, so I've now given up on cheaper and now just want high and GOOD (which further research suggests the Stokke is not...)

Thanks Rootpig, do you happen to know whether the Uppababy Cruz (which seems to get even better reviews) sits as high as the Vista?

Ihateparties, I currently carry her EVERYWHERE! This is all a wicked scheme to wean her (and me) off!

BTW she's 6 months if that makes much diff...

Honestly dont get the Cruz - the Vista is better in the respect that its got some suspension! The Cruz is solid under hand. I had one, and kept getting it out, hating it, boxing it up, then thinking it wasn't that bad, getting it out again, trying it again and boxing it up. I even put it on Ebay about 3 times. Eventually I admitted that although I loved the huge basket, easy to use and light seat, I absolutely could not live with the solid "non existant" suspension. You can see it move...but it does nothing!! The Vista on the other hand is great.

hey OP I don't have direct experience as Tiggy does but if you are interested to see them side by side here's a (with a very perky American woman!)

oh just seen your DD is 6mo so maybe that's a consideration - you can't buy the Vista without carrycot here, as far as I know, but you can in the States. think you can flatten it though, if you wanted to store for future DCs, Tiggy might know?

No, you have to buy it with the carrycot. I would simply pack it away safe for resale or No 2.
I think that video shows the Vista seat is higher...but there's not much in it.
PLEASE do check out the Cruz suspension before buying. I prefer the Cruz for looks, basket etc but the lack of suspension will make your hands hurt.

We will defo be getting a Vista when we move to the States / for no 2 - was sad we couldn't have one this time but London flat is tiny and up a flight of stairs

Aha, thanks so much Rootpig, I'll have a view! Tiggy, that sounds so frustrating... enough to put me off...but then how annoying buying a carrycot I'll never use (and we haven't got much storage space either). So maybe neither of them is the answer.

Maybe as others have said I need to ditch this idea of height being crucial and focus on other factors (eg we're going to be living in a hot country for a couple of years, so maybe something good in the sun...)
