Pushchair lending could be the key here :)

milk · 20/02/2013 20:05

How many pushchairs do you have ALovelyBunchOfCoconuts?

ALovelyBunchOfCoconuts · 20/02/2013 20:41

I have the Baby Jogger City Select and honestly after 5 months I am really bored of it Blush

TuesdayNightDateNight · 21/02/2013 12:37

It takes a bit of faff, but if you buy and sell at the right price you can change your pushchair as many times as you want.

I pretty much broke even over my " buggy time". Had about 30. Just kept checking the local papers and the local eBay listings for bargains.

You have to know what's "hot" though!!

ALovelyBunchOfCoconuts · 21/02/2013 15:03

the thing with me is im so fussy. i hate buying second hand because they always have scratches and they don't have that New out the box smell. i love that smell. so its really costly for me to get a brand new buggy all the time. dh is goin mental at me for pining over a new one.

the city select is massive. not sure i could manage that one.

The City Select is boring, but I need a massive basket underneath, and I haven't found another double pram that has that.

When DS2 is 1.5, I hope to switch to the Mountain Buggy +one.

ALovelyBunchOfCoconuts · 21/02/2013 18:04

oh yeah the basket on the cs is great. im using a mac quest at the mo and i hate it. zero basket space and one handed is impossible.

I have the same problem. I have had over 60 of the things.

Hmmm.

I was just thinking today, could I get a job as a tester or something...but I understand your pain, anyway Smile

OutsideOverThere · 21/02/2013 18:24

What IS it about pushchairs anyway. I've been obsessed for 10 years and never figured it out...it's a similar feeling to when I was a child and played with dolls. Putting a doll (or the cat, or whatever) in a cosy pushchair, and messing about with pram bits and attachments and even bicycle seats for dolls was such a lovely feeling - like making them safe.

I really enjoyed that feeling. I still love it now. I had ds3 partly because I had too many pushchairs left to not have another child and didn't want to get rid of them Blush

milk · 21/02/2013 18:44

OutsideOverThere Shock Is that more than Tiggy? :P

OutsideOverThere · 21/02/2013 18:56

I wouldn't have thought so - that's for three children as well, and I think Tigs had it on me in that respect (buggies:children ratio)

she's far better on the newer ones as well, I only know strange old stuff like Emmaljunga and Gesslein. And I'm a thicko which doesn't help Grin

I work in a huuuuuge baby shop on prams . Get to test them out , demo them and I defiantly know the pros and cons of all 350 + we have on display! I love my job!

laughinglil · 21/02/2013 19:37
  • definitely - silly ipad!
ALovelyBunchOfCoconuts · 21/02/2013 20:07

laughinglil what's your favourite at the mo?

OP posts:
laughinglil · 21/02/2013 21:31

At the mo from birth I would say my favourite is Uppababy Vista. We currently don't stock Icandy or Bugaboo (might be a clue who I work for lol) so can't compare to those. I do like the cam though! Defiantly without a doubt the most popular prams I sell are Quinnys.

laughinglil · 21/02/2013 21:35

Grrrr definitely I can spell this word lol!!

Tiggywunkle · 22/02/2013 00:29

LOL re talking about me behind my back!! Where did you work out my child to pushchair ratio!! I did pretty well with DC1 - I think there were just the 3 pushchairs :D It was DC2 where it all went badly wrong.....

I want laughinglil's job!! My guess is she's in Kiddicare :)

BookWormery · 22/02/2013 00:51

Is the pram shop like a car show room? Where are these places?

Tiggywunkle · 22/02/2013 01:02

Yes....try Kiddicare.com for the location of them :)

OutsideOverThere · 22/02/2013 09:00

Sorry Tiggy!!! Blush It was a thread about a year ago I think, and everyone was comparing how many they had had and I think you won. Grin

I was Ok with ds1 as well - thought it was wrong to have about four...Oh dear and then ds2 came along. And I kept his and now I have got ds3. It's getting worse.

Laughinglil, do you make those youtube videos as well? I am welljel of you Smile

ALovelyBunchOfCoconuts · 22/02/2013 09:30

i only had two for dd but when ds came along id had four with the first six months. now he's 17month and I've had two more since but dh is gettin narky now i need another. i haven't really had many because i can't afford it and im too fussy to get cheap ones!

OP posts:
laughinglil · 22/02/2013 09:32
