Phil and Teds classic doesn't unclip from folded

I have a new Phil and Teds classic but once it has been folded it doesn't seem to want to unfold again. The red clip just doesn't work properly. I am constantly worried that I will be out one day and get it out the car to use but just not be able to get it to unclip.

Has anyone else had this problem or got any suggestions?

I've got an explorer which had the same problem, it's basically sorted its self out in the few months we've had it but initially when this was happening I used to re-fold it, just sort of pushing back as far into the folded position as i could and that seemed to reset it.

Sorry that explanation probably doesn't make much sense but I can't think how else to explain it!!

It does make sense and I will def be trying this, thanks. Hoping it is just really stiff still because it is new and hasn't been used much yet. Your post suggests that this could be the case.
