M&P Sola versus UppaBaby Vista

My head is fried trying to decide on a travel system for our first baby...
Had been thinking of BabyJogger Versa GT, but it got recalled, and although they tell me it has been re-released can't find it in Glasgow!

Then quite keen on UppaBaby Vista, but on the large side for our small car, so got talked into buying the Sola from a rather pushy Mamas and Papas sales assistant.
When I got home, seem to be more bad review for Sola than Vista, and am now thinking should I cancel the Sola?
Would really appreciate any advice from Mums out there on either of these 2 travel systems!!

I had a Sola and hated it. There were lots of things I didn't like but the main one was that there was very little suspension and the front wheels buckled inwards every time I went down a kerb. So whenever I crossed a road I would have to mentally add on a couple of seconds to the time required to get over before the next car came. It became very irritating after a hundred or so times!

There were a few good points, DD seemed comfy in it and I liked the carrycot. But if I could go back I would definitely buy something different. HTH x

i'm going to be annoying and say order a versa, i had one before they went back and it was brilliant, really really good. Vistas are good but can be rattly, which would annoy me a lot. I have had a m and p glide, which is essentially a sola. I shouldn't be admitting it on here but i actually really liked it, in the context of buying the package with carrycot, footmuff, etc. for 150 from an outlet shop. The bad reviews were less of a consideration at that price! I have a penchant for the cheap in addition to it having a lie flat seat instead of going from carrycot to bucket seat, which i personally prefer. The versa though, is something else. If I was starting again that's what i'd get, for the combination of features, the quality and the price it's hard to beat.

Hello. Give Stirling pram centre a call, they are only 35-40 mins from Glasgow and I think they had more than my Versa gt on order for the shop so may have one left and definitely have the regular ones so you could get a play/feel in real life. Hope this helps :)

I love my Uppababy. The pram attachment is brilliant, it can be used for daytime naps, overnight stays and of course on the pushchair. It is a dream to push, easy to collapse and to fit all the parts (car seat, pram etc).

I would recommend it, but have no experience of the other pushchairs mentioned, sorry!

The vista is a great pram but the fold is big and I found it difficult to collapse the frame. I would avoid m&p as the only one I've had was poor quality and they are not famed for good customer service. I currently have a baby jogger and the quality is second to none. The one hand fold is just brilliant. The versa folds in one piece, the vista needs to come apart to fold to get in even a reasonable sized boot. For me I think I'd try to get hold of a versa as first option, failing that if you can fit it in your boot you can't go wrong with the vista IMO but having never used a m&p sola I can't comment just my experience of m&p wasn't great. HTH

Please consider the Mutsy Evo. I have the vista and though the Evo isn't any lighter it folds more compactly and it has a seat that can be laid flat and enclosed to use as a carry cot. If you can go to the baby show on the Sunday you might be lucky like me and offed one for £150. Vista is way better than sola but Musty Evo better My latest is the cosatto Giggle. Wish I had waited and bought the evo just for the lie flat seat.

The Versa GT never made it out here on the UK without having new frames on all stock, and they have now been out about 2 weeks. Comparing a Sola with a Vista or a Versa is a no brainer ..there is no
comparison. The Vista and Versa are pushchairs at the top of their class. The Sola..dont even start me on it but it's long, the basket is a silly shape, the seat ratchets up when you pull the hood up, it rusts easily etc. At least Baby Jogger UK have looked after their customers during the Versa recall and the Versa is soooo good that most people seem to opt for another one rather than take a refund. It really is excellent. Both Vista and Versa are excellent but the fold on the Versa wins it for me. But please cancel your Sola order!

I have had both the sola and the vista . The vista is no good I you were to use public transport it is a nightmare! I the sola has a tiny basket and the seat malfunctioned on me do kept dropping back. But on the positive side the vista has a hug basket and looks so comfy and sturdy the suspension on it really helps in bumpy terrain. However with the sola being a lot smaller it is much handier and fits into a small boot well. You can also fold I down with stuff in the basket which you cannot do with the vista Smile

Thanks for all your comments. Went with our gut, cancelled Sola order, Vista ordered... Much happier! :)
