Advise re stokke pushchair

Hi all- we are thinking of buying a stokke explore pushchair - there is a local shop with a great deal with winter kit included and carry cot but the only problem is I'm not keen on te colour but i guess if I need o I can live with it - otherwise if we go for another colour we can buy a stokke xplory for the same price (ish) but no winter kit. How important is the winter kit this time if year and do I really need a carry cot? Baby due this month. Thanks in advance

Hello! We have the stokke and just started using it with our newborn. I was wrestling with the idea of buying the winter kit but so far it hasn't been necessary at all, it does look pretty but I think it is for temperatures of -5 rather than the dreary drizzly winter we have here. The rain cover and sheepskin lining worked very well to keep lo dry and warm outside today. You know you can get separate fabric kits to change the colour of the pram if you don't like it?

Yes I was thinking about that - maybe changing the colour after a little while-do u have the Cary cot? We didn't use a carry cost with ds1 but he was a summer baby

Yes we have the carrycot and I've used it every time we've been out so far, the buggy board is good for dd1 too although you have to stand slightly to the side to push it with the board on. I loved having a carrycot with dd1 who was a winter baby and think it got her used to sleeping in the pram which made quiet lunches out possible for a long time.

You don't need the winter kit. They didn't make them when DS was a baby, yet with the raincover over everything and bundled up in his snuggle, he was toasty, toasty warm. It's just a way to make extra money for Stokke. Honestly, it was like a little greenhouse in there, and he was a November baby, so it was icy and snowing a lot of his infancy. It's a very well made piece of kit, you don't need the new winter set to keep your baby lovely and warm.

Carry cot was worth it, though. We used it for naps inside as well as out and about.

Fantastic pram, ive had 4 children and owned a pram shop at one stage so have tried em all, the stokke is the one I recommend to everyone I meet it's brilliant.
