phil and ted owners, please help me fall in love with it?

After pestering dh for 9 months he agreed to buy a second have p&t explorer. we had been offered a free maclaren twin so he didn't think we should waste money. Anyway ds is now 4.5 months and dd is 26 months. i've been using it since he was born but still can't get use to it. it's heavy, hard to steer with both in and now ds is too big for the cocoon but not big enough for the second seat and doesn't like lying flat I think. also how on earth do you get the baby out if not in cocoon went shopping yesterday and really struggled to get him in and out, without taking the top seat off. i'm now wishing I had taken the free maclaren. also the hood does not stay in place and it keeps falling off which is really annoying. please help me love it or at least like it. I can't tell dh, and i'll never hear the end of it if get rid of it.

Try and buy a sport seat for the back. They recline so are better for that awkward stage between cocoon and the explorer seat. The sport seat will fit.

The other option is to remove the cocoon and use blankets in the newborn space.

thanks will try and find a cheap sport seat on ebay. I tried sitting him in the second seat with the footmuff and he seemed comfortable but not ideal for longer periods.

I have a vibe but for this 'awkward' stage I used to put the carseat on the top and then ds1 in the little seat at the bottom. At 2yrs old he was hopping in and out of the buggy anyway but it worked for us.

I now love my P&T as ds2 is 9 months and naps like a dream in it as it lies completely flat. I made a fabric cover for the back to keep drafts and light out and to him it is just like being in a cot which is a godsend when we are out and about.
