Least annoying/best Phil & Teds

Hi

I am expecting dc4 in March and dc3 will be 2 years 3 months and so if he is anything like my others, will definitely need to still be in the buggy for another year or so. I then want to sell it so something with good resale would be great.

I have had a P&T Vibe before and HATED it with a passion. I then had a Nipper 360 double which was good but I don't think it's the best for toddler/baby because I didn't like the single hood and bucket seats.

I was thinking of getting a BJCM GT double this time but DS3 will hopefully be starting nursery when the baby is a few months old and I don't want to really be pushing a side by side half empty buggy around (I live in London too so use buses etc..).

Therefore I think a single sized double like an inline could be my best option but is there a P&T out there that isn't like a tank to push and that is comfy for both aged Children?

Or, should I just get the BJCM GT and use a single with sling when ds3 is at nursery?

Why on earth do you want to buy a P&Ts if you hated the Vibe? They are all pretty similar in style...give or take a bit....

Honestly, look at a Babystyle Oyster Max. They are due out in the UK somewhere around February time, and it is absolutely and utterly superb (with a bit of creative thinking around basket space). Great as a single, superb as a double and even good with a buggy board on.

I know it sounds crazy but I just wondered whether I was really unlucky with the Vibe & that it is a particularly terrible, heavy P&T. Maybe I should just stick with the BJCM GT

I have had the vibe and e3 and hated them both. I found the vibe was as wide as a side by side and as long as a tandem it was huge

New P&T's out, the Dot and the Navigator - the Dot is slimmer than all previous P&T's, although lengthwise it's about the same. It fits my skinny 2.8yo pretty well, and will do for a while, but if your child is more solidly built it may not. Worth seeing in person, I think.

I think it's a little lighter than the older P&T's as well. Of course, it will be cripplingly expensive as you can only bloody buy these ones brand new.

I just went to look at the Phil & teds and loved the navigator. I like how the second seat reclines and still doesn't bang your legs. Maybe this is the option and fingers crossed it doesn't turn our like my Vibe!

I had trouble with the Vibe too, hated it, and ended up selling it. Only to be contacted a couple of months later by the buyer saying there as a problem with the front wheel, which P&T replaced for them. Perhaps you had a similar problem, and like me, did not know it. I found it so heavy to push and it was unresponsive, which I presume was resolved by replacing the wheel.

I now have the explorer. The hood always comes loose from the frame, and it shits me off no end. Their solution, just bend the plastic bits in again. grrrrr. Otherwise, I do like it, but like the other older models, they are just huge.

I loved my p and sport, it was very sturdy and I had similar issue of not always having two children with me after nursery drop off so was nice to have the inline. Now I don't need a double but I have nonetheless purchased a phil and teds dot, I wanted something sturdy but smaller to manoeuvre when dd walking next to me but strong enough to take her weight with ease and be easy to push one handed if walking the eldest home from school and she wants to hold my hand! In short it's a dream to push, it doesn't creak rattle or wobble and it doesn't feel too big. Dd 2 fits fine in either seat and she is a very big almost 2.5, of course she would have more room in a navigator/explorer but this does the job and she is comfy. Nearly bought an xlr but am so glad I didn't! Could never have pushed that one handed with dd2 in it! Overall I thoroughly recommend p and t, have kept coming back to this brand for its design and simplicity after trying many other doubles and singles!

I loved my Vibe, but had issues with the braking system. Sometimes I would push the little red button and the brake wouldn't come on. I kicked up a fuss, kept badgering P&T's and after sending it to them twice they eventually replaced the frame. My updated frame had a different braking mechanism housing, and the Verve had a similar housing. Seems to me they knew the problem was there and redesigned the brake. I didn't have any other issues with it, I loved it. So comfy and sturdy. My DS always seemed comfy in there and it was perfect for walking the dog over bumpy ground.

I've got an old fashioned sport as well. I'm putting off doing housework and have just spent ten minutes comparing the different models on the P&T website. I think the sport is the lightest tandem that they do (10.5 kg). Some of the others are 2kg heavier. I like the sport but did find there was a point when DS2 was 5 months that he didn't want to be in the cocoon but was still a bit small for the second seat. That stage didn't last long though.

I borrowed a Vibe and hated it. I bought a Sport and loved it, but no longer need a double so will be selling it asap...
