Hi all..
I've recently been offered a virtually unused Bugaboo Frog with all the extras and add ons for £300 from a friend. This is my first baby, so I'm wondering if this is a good deal and if there are better puchchairs available that I should consider? Many thanks!

Sounds like a great deal...I'll have it if you don't want it! I've not had a Frog but all the feedback I've seen is excellent.

Dordeydoo · 16/10/2012 19:23

I love my frog! I'd get it if I were you

JoJobean83 · 19/10/2012 21:19

I just bought a frog with everything for £145?! I don't think £300 is a good price the frogs are the oldest of the bugaboo family whilst their still good £300 can get you a complete Cameleon package which is newer than the frog.

Dordeydoo · 21/10/2012 12:46

You could get a 2nd hand cam for that price. They are just as good

StateofConfusion · 23/10/2012 16:38

I have a frog, I love it, what comes with it for £300 as there are some cams on ebay at that price.

ENormaSnob · 24/10/2012 00:29

300 is way too much for a frog IMO.

I paid about 150 back in 09.

toddlerama · 24/10/2012 00:31

I paid £140 for my frog. It is a bit tatty, but came with everything bar footmuff.

LottieSutcliffe · 27/10/2012 15:02

Thanks everyone, much appreciated. I've decided to go and have a look at a second hand Cameleon now.. This Frog sounds like it is overpriced maybe. x

Depends if the resale value is important to you or not, if you are planning to use it for subsequent children, or will be using it for a year and then selling in favour of a lightweight buggy.
If you are planning more kids, and will stick with the frog then a second hand almost unused from a known source may not be a bad idea and you may be able to get her down on price, as it's not really worth. £300
I got a second hand frog in 2008 in excellent condition with 2 footmuffs, the travel case and a parasol for under £200.
If you went for a cam you could get the same package for similar money, and if you sold it after using for a year you would still get £200 back at least depending on condition.
As pushchairs go the frog is lovely to push even with a toddler in, the carrycot is large and folds small for storage, it's lightweight, slightly fiddly to fold at first, and has a huge basket. Handle height is comfy for most unless you are over 6 ft and the suspension is beautifully soft. Snow wheels are available for off road and bad weather.

I'm looking at a 2008 frog from gumtree at the moment. £150 for the stroller, cot and car seat. I know some people would advise on a new car seat but that aside does £150 seem good for a 4 year old bugaboo if its good condition? What should I check for?

Ihateparties · 02/01/2013 17:43

Is it definitely 2008? When i was pram shopping first time round in 2007 i only remember the cam and gecko being in the shops.. could be wrong...

mamabrownbear · 02/01/2013 17:46

Was told it was 4 years old and they stopped making the frog in 2010 so it's possible...

Ihateparties · 02/01/2013 17:53

Really, 2010? Wow, that's lots later than i thought. I know they still sold them in the US but i thought they were long gone from here.

cutestgirls · 02/01/2013 17:54

frog is not being made anymore, therefor if anything breaks or needs to be replaced, you won't be able to replace it. besides 300 is definitely overpriced. stick with the cameleon i have that one its a better stroller for sure.

Tiggywunkle · 02/01/2013 18:15

It sounds late to me. It was definitely the Gecko and Cameleon at the start of 2008 in shops. No sniff of the Frog.

Ihateparties · 02/01/2013 18:29

They do still sell spares for the frog and a lot of the cam parts do fit but not all. I bought a gecko in very late 2009 and it was already out of production by a little while then, it was very definitely a straggler, a left over. i'm certain they weren't selling the frog here in 2010 and i'm still not sure about 2008 either as they weren't in the shops in 07. I guess it could be from another country?

Zipitydooda · 02/01/2013 20:29

Keep an eye on how much they are selling for on eBay in similar condition with same accessories.

I have an 8 yr old frog that has served me well through 3 children so it's been a great buy but if I was having my first now then I think there are probably better alternatives; easier to fold into the car, lighter. At the time, it was the only buggy of its kind but now there are many similar style.

StateofConfusion · 04/01/2013 21:47

Parts for the frog aren't an issue, although bugaboo won't admit it, cam ones fit.

Twattybollocks · 04/01/2013 22:10

Only frog parts you will struggle to find second hand in good
Condition are the fabrics, they are prone to fading, ESP the hood and the front of the seat.

RoyMum · 06/01/2013 14:41

I'm selling a younger cam for less than that with everything as well!!

ciler12 · 25/06/2013 00:07

hi, I have a Bugaboo Frog in Orange with tons of accessories for sale too...including the beautiful travel bag which costs about £90.00, cup holder, umbrella, bag clip, etc... Let me know if interested in buying it for £300.00. It's in excellent condition. Collection from Surrey, KT12.

flootshoot · 27/06/2013 17:52

What's the difference between the gecko front and cam? They all look the same to me!

flootshoot · 27/06/2013 17:53

*frog!

scottishmummy · 27/06/2013 19:16

£300 say too much for frog.£150 tops

GwendolineMaryLacey · 27/06/2013 19:18

Agree, half that would be reasonable.
