Making newborn snuggly

crazypaving · 25/08/2012 15:32

I have a BJCM for days when I'm alone with my newborn, due Oct, and a Mountain Buggy Duet for when I have my older DS with us. I know they both lie pretty flattish, and say suitable from newborn, but I'd like to get something to make it snuggly for DC2 when he's really little. Any suggestions? I'd like to keep it below £30 if poss!

Great, thanks valiumqueen. I'm going to get busy on ebay!

ValiumQueen · 26/08/2012 14:29

Good luck. I found mine for £10 in a second hand shop, and it looks like it was never used.

crazypaving · 26/08/2012 15:01

ooh looks like I'm going to have eBay competition!!

Petite Zia and Graco soft cots fit well too. I believe the Petite Zia ones are a bit better. You can parent face them and attach them too. I would think you could do the same on the Duet too.

Second the p&t cocoon, have a newborn and toddler, switching between MB Duo and BJCM and its brilliant. Bought it for 15 pounds on ebay and plan to resell again as soon as DD is big enough to go in the straps.

BuggySnuggle (their official website) do some great things that are quit versatile...I recommend them. Great customer service too - mine was sent (by me) to the old address by mistake so was 'lost' in the post - they sent me another. Really snuggly and washable, transferable and DS had his until he left his pushchair (DD still has hers). Here: www.buggysnuggle.com/shop/all/default.aspx

There's also BabySnuggle for younger babies which looks good for prams:

Might be totally not what you meant but I loved mine.

ValiumQueen · 27/08/2012 07:26

Those little snuggles are adorable!

crazypaving · 27/08/2012 18:20

MummyPig was there some way to attach the P&T to the mountain buggy? Wondering if it'd be too wide for the duet, and if it's attachable in any way.

PnT sport Cocoon is 1/2in smaller than the duet at 10 1/2 inches on the firm base. The soft sides would squidge in. There are Velcro tabs on the cocoon that I believe could be used to attach to D rings on Mountain Buggy.

crazypaving · 27/08/2012 18:58

Sorry if I've just repeated a question Blush Thought it was just the BJCM that had the d rings. That's great news, thanks

Sorry Blush my fault I think! There are two very similar threads at the moment and I am clearly confused. Just ignore my last comment Grin

crazypaving · 27/08/2012 19:40

Are there D rings on the Mountain Buggy? Or is it just the BCJM? I'm getting confused now...!!

ValiumQueen · 27/08/2012 19:54

D rings on Mountain buggy terrain double. No idea about the duet. I thought you had a duet crazy ( my head hurts!)

crazypaving · 27/08/2012 19:58

I do! My head hurts too! I'm not at home atm so can't check - was just hoping someone might know. I'll just check once I'm home and stop being confused and confusing... Thank you for your help!

Do a thread asking tiggy for urgent help. She knows everything!

Tiggywunkle · 27/08/2012 20:11

LOL I dont know everything by a long way!! All pushchairs have D rings though because its part of British safety standards that an additional harness can be added if required. So yes, the Duet, BJCM etc in the UK will all have D rings.

ValiumQueen · 27/08/2012 20:25

See! You do know everything, and you are Omnipresent! Thank you tiggy I had a dog called tiggy once Grin she knew feck all about pushchairs though.

crazypaving · 27/08/2012 20:31

wow, I'm impressed (knowledge + speed of response!)

Thank you!

Lol I just happened to escape the children for two minutes!

ValiumQueen · 27/08/2012 21:52

You clearly have a sixth sense for people in pushchair need.

crazypaving · 28/08/2012 14:14

Amazing, is there some kind of Tiggywunkle Signal a la Bat Signal? Beaming a light across the Mumsnet boards?

TiggerWearsATriteSmile · 28/08/2012 14:40

I have a lodger bunker like this

They are fantastic and so, so cosy.

ValiumQueen · 28/08/2012 15:48

I was wondering the exact same thing crazy but figured it was best left in my head Grin

Tiggywunkle · 28/08/2012 20:48

Lol, not at all. This is my first visit since yesterday!
Maybe there should be a pushchair SOS button....
