Possibly stupid question about Britax cosytoes

I have a B-Dual with two Britax cosytoes. Is it possible to take the front of the cosytoes off leaving the back in the pushchair so that the DC have something soft (and more easily washable) to sit in but don't boil by having the cosy bit over the front of them too? It is possible to do this with both my BJCM & iCandy Cherry cosytoes and I think it should be possible with the Britax one as it has a double zip but, after a 10 minute battle with it today, I still hadn't figured out how to do it! Before I force it, I'd like to know if I should be able to do it. Generally, I'm quite practical but this B-Dual keeps baffling me - I still love it's flexibility though!

I've got a cosytoes, hasn't it got 2 zips?

TruthSweet · 24/07/2012 19:54

I have a 2010 cosy toes in Atomic Denim and it zips off. It's thickly padded and fleecy though so it sounds like it might be different to yours if your's is suitable for this weather!

StetsonsAreCool · 24/07/2012 19:57

My britax cosytoes doesn't zip off. You're right, it looks like it should. But it's got two zipper bits, but no 'end' for them to unzip off, IYSIM.

With my BSmart (2010 model) I just tuck it back on itself so it goes into the basket, and is held down by the leg rest.

Chunkychicken · 24/07/2012 22:34

I could have sworn my black (basic) cosy toes that I bought with the BSmart 2010 model had a zip-off front, but now I'm not so sure Confused Can't check as its in DDs wardrobe...

How annoying! As Stetson says, it has two ends so it looks as though it should but I really can't work out how.

Truth - mine are also thick & fleecy but only bought two weeks ago due to the weather. Of course, as soon as they arrive, the sun comes out! I thought they would be comfier for DS to lie on and, as he's a sicky baby, easier to pop in the wash than sponge down the whole seat unit.

I've got a purple Britax cosytoes, bought in 2011. Definately doesn't zip off despite having two zips! Confused

Murtette · 26/07/2012 20:13

So why the two zips? Why do I want to be able to unzip it from either end but not be able to take it off? So annoying! I'd love to know Britax's logic on this.

I've asked myself that so many times. I suppose it's so that you can let more air in without the child unzipping the last bit, or in the case of dd, if they wriggle and kick enough to unzip it, you're not constantly stopping to pick it up (you just run over it instead, great design feature Britax Hmm)

Wish you could zip it off those. Am considering buying a snunkie foot muff for next winter.

I have just checked mine and the front does zip off. One side of the zip is the 'stopper' end and one is slightly smoothed off/lower down so the zips come off. I remember being pleased to discover this so I could just use it as a comfy liner if the weather warmed up slightly.
