I'm so undecided, I'm annoying myself now! (Tiggy...)

Not really sure why I am starting a thread....maybe just a place to straighten my thoughts out a little?!

Was dead set on the BJCM twin for when dc2 arrives in October, DS will be just 2. But recently, he has been walking more and more and I am thinking a tandem would actually be better.

Tiggy Thanks for all your advice with this earlier in the year. I really thought I'd decided. Blame it on my DS

I like the option to have dc2 on their own in a nice single, which I didn't have with DS (hated his first pram with a passion)

So...

Britax B-Dual... I've read every review and thread, and thought this was my preferred option, but it wouldn't fit in my hall with the guards on, although I could always fold it, so bit of a non-issue.

Went to play with the B-dual the other evening and it is so heavy! I was really surprised. And that was with no children in it...

Once you buy all the components, it's not that "cheap"

OR

iCandy Peach Blossom. More expensive than the B-dual but better resale I imagine...

£599 ex display at my local pram shop.... just had a play and it is so much lighter and nicer than I thought it would be. But it is tomato, not black jack (my prefered colour)

Bearing in mind that whatever I buy is likely to go on the credit card anyway Blush

My options are:

  1. Take the plunge soon (this week?) with the ex-display peach
  2. Put deposit down for the new peach, due September (Baby due 1st October, cutting quite fine but we won't be going out straight away anyway!)
  3. Wait... I'm pressuming the B-dual's are readily available.

Can someone just tell me what to do????? Confused and fed up!!

If you might need it longer than a year get new peach.. otherwise old one (tomato is my fave, I have blackjack.. swapsie?!) I'm assuming you mean double ex display for that price, otherwise I'd be heading to ebay probably.

The PB2 is def superior in terms of seats, think you would be fine for October as apparently some came through this week!

Jane Twone?

Hmmmm...

I can't look at another type of pushchair, my head will if I do.

DS will be 2 in October, so won't be in school until the following September. He is a good walker, but we'll have no car when I go on mat leave and nursery is a bit of a walk (however long 6/7 mins by car is...I've never actually walked Blush ) Nearest playgroup has closed so he'd be using it to walk to a further away one (other direction to nursery and v hilly)

I reckon we'll use it for more than a year but not every day.

Rather than put the ex display one solely on credit card, I could pay deposit and save up towards a shiney one then put the rest majority on the card.

I'm really just talking myself into this now!

Ooohhhh stop putting my name on threads....lololol!!
Frigg or Parties or Monkeys or Truth or Honey or Suzie or Misdee have all had tons of pushchairs!! I'm just the one with the child who takes forever to feed and with itchy fingers!!!

But no doubt for me, the Peach Blossom is my choice. The B-Dual is great but for the extra the Peach is worth it IMHO. Parties didn't listen Confused lolol (I luffs her too and she does live nearby) and went on a tandem journey of discovery as I did, and she finally listened and bought a Peach Blossom and is happeeee :o

The Peach is such a gorgeous single in its own right that for that alone its worth it. I now have a rapidly heading for 4 year old and even faster heading for 2 year old in my PB2 and it's still pushing beautifully. Yes it's getting heavier but I still push one handed.

Whether you buy the 1 or 2 is your choice. Being utterly honest, I would get a PB2 although you are borderline plus you have a good deal which is swaying things...is it a new extended basket chassis? If so, if you do find you need the Blossom kit for longer then it's easy to buy a Black Magic one and put it on the back. The questions really are when is your eldest likely to walk more. For us, 3 was a turning point. But for my sanity she still rides now and again (busy roads, shopping in busy shops or china shops!). But at 3 we probably could have done without. But if you walk a lot, then I would say you will need a double longer. Equally at the other end is the baby. There are two issues with the current PB1 - the smaller lower carrycot which the baby may grow out of sooner than 6 months. But the point at which the baby wants to sit up fully and see out is the other issue as the lower seat only reclines. For my eldest it would have been 10 months, for my youngest he probably woud have been fine until 16 months. So it's a gambling game. The PB2 is safest, will have a decent resale value if you keep the boxes and generally look after it. But you will probably resell the Blackjack one for not much less than you are buying it. Your decision :)

Tiggywunkle · 13/06/2012 15:25

PB2 then :o
Which colour :o

newtonupontheheath · 13/06/2012 15:35

Sorry Tiggy, just felt like I should have offered my apologies for being so indecisive! Smile In truth, I've just read lots of threads and not posted so much on them so I'm probably sounding quite mad at the moment Grin

Just been on the phone to my mum about something unrelated and steered the conversation round to pushchairs.... She also said the pb2 Grin Grin Grin

Black jack me thinks Wink

Option 2 Put deposit down for the new peach, due September (Baby due 1st October, cutting quite fine but we won't be going out straight away anyway!)

newtonupontheheath · 13/06/2012 15:46

Thanks milk

I'm going to show my lovely husband to be this thread Wink

Lol just put it on your credit card and then relax, put your feet up and grow your baby calmly with peaceful music and foot massages whilst looking calm and serene like the adverts show Wink

newtonupontheheath · 13/06/2012 15:54

Ha ha ha ha

I'm also planning a wedding (4 weeks to go!) so am quite possibly channeling my energies into the wrong thing even being on MN in the first place!

I'm not sure my toddler knows what the word serene means.... But I appreciate the sentiment!

Tiggywunkle · 13/06/2012 16:02

Exactly, just get one bought and done with!
Good luck for the wedding :)
I thought you would like the last comment knowing you had a toddler Wink

Ihateparties · 14/06/2012 22:00

Happy with Peach. Yup. Has extended basket chassis so can get new kit if and when necessary. (I was happy with the B Dual if it had fit anywhere I needed it to.. like my house, my favourite local cr*p pound style shop etc.)

Tiggywunkle · 15/06/2012 00:16

LOLOL Another pramaholic lost cause Wink!
The problem with true pramaholics is they always think there is something better. I am coming to the conclusion that I am a pushchair collector rather than a pramoholic like Frigg and Parties!!! LOL

Ihateparties · 15/06/2012 20:18

Hmmm Hmm so what's the difference then... ???

newtonupontheheath · 16/06/2012 11:44

Eeeeeee

Just ordered our pb2.

My face is like this Grin

DPs is not....but he'll get over it Wink
