Is it just me who HATES iCandy Cherries?

Had one, secondhand but in very good, lovingly-cared for nick, 2010 model - eight months later, the front wheel was buggered and metal had irreparably sheared! This just with light, respectful daily pavement use, not offroading or exploring uncharted wilderness.

Got second secondhand chassis - again, very newish and well-looked-after - front wheel fell off. Bought bolts and nuts, fixed front wheel, patted self smugly on back. Back wheel, today, has just fallen off. GIVEN UP. Evidently not meant to be!

So tell me, Cherry lovers - has no-one else found them fragile for the price? And any bright ideas about a super-cheapy to trundle an 18 month old about in? She likes to sit bolt upright and nosey, doesn't care much about being parent-facing Hmm, I would quite like a shopping basket or sturdiness enough to carry a bag or two (am NOT gifted at travelling light.) She doesn't usually sleep in her buggy.

I did love the things that the Cherry was good at, by the way. I just wished the chassis stood up better to actual day-to-day use!

Same thing happened to me. I got it second hand so didn't lose too much sleep, but I wouldn't buy another.

Try a BJCM/4
They have a life time warrenty on the frame.
and are brilliant in every other way, except they don't PF.
If you buy a newer model they have 'sit up straps' which makes the seat more upright.

Thanks Liberte, I think I shall. Have now got over the muttering about buying yet another pram stage and become excited at the thought of a purple one Grin

The 2011 is the only version with the 'sit upright' straps.

Thanks tiggy. I've been for a play in John Lewis and the small climbed into the BCJM delightedly and sat raring to go (I keep saying baby jogger mini city and all other variants - I don't do well with this 'wearing pram knowledge lightly'...)

It has been purchased. I am now very very excited.
