Tiggy could you help me please (again!) BJCM related!

After your wonderful advice on my previous post, I bought a BJCM! Love it!
But.. the shop sold it as the 2012 model & i'm not sure that it is after watching a youtube video!

It is the purple one, it has the stipt upright straps, the basket seems had to access, no auto locking thingy! No PE board in the seat?

Have I been mis-sold?
I had asked them if they could price-match, but they said no as the price I had found was on a 2011, & the one I bought was the newer one, as they had none in stock I had the display model, I paid £215 which I was happy with but now I am disgruntled at the thought it is the older one?

Any advise on what I should do?

That definitely sounds like a 2011. Can you find the production sticker on it? It'll have the date of manufacture and a chassis number on it. Then go back to the shop and complain. At least get the difference for the price match from them.

khill3008 · 26/05/2012 09:06

The Manufacture date is Oct 2010!
Just done a bit of google-ing about the store I bought it from, they don't seem to react well to complaints, One woman has said she was thrown out of the store by the Manager!
Think I may email, or is going in face to face batter?

Just rang them, they are going to refund!
I haggled them down to £180, Love my BJ even more now!

Wish I had bought it in the first place instead of my cam & bee! - Should have listened you you guys!

Is the footmuff & belly bar worth buying or is there another band footmuff better?

That's great! :o I haven't had one but I imagine the footmuff would be worth getting because it will allow easy access to the fold handle. But I think older ones didn't have the slit so check first.

khill3008 · 26/05/2012 11:14

Well I will definitely check it is the 2012 before leaving the store this time!
I was just pram happy at my new purchase! The refund will pay for the footmuff!

Well done for sorting this out :o and ending up better off!!
I have just actually bought a belly bar for my BJCM - to be honest my children have never bothered with holding one, but I want to hang some toys off it. I wouldn't buy the Baby Jogger footmuffs. I haven't heard anything particularly great about them although they do look lovely. I have a Buggysbuggle on mine which has the hole for the handle. Snunkie will make them with a hole too. But its so easy to slide your hand underneath any footmuff to pull the handle that I would simply buy what you like. I find ones with ties on the top work the best as you poke the ends through the bottom of the mesh if you need to recline the seat and tie. Or if your child doesn't need reclining, then tie around the frame.

I will look into buggysnuggle & snunkie then! Think I will only need a liner for the summer months, might even get my sewing machine out!

Thank you Hypatia & Tiggy, your advise, as always invaluable!
