Bugaboo Bee Plus / Baby Style Oyster? ....Or, Baby Jogger City Mini!?! Confused.com!

Hi everyone,

I'm wondering if anyone can help - I think I'm pretty settled on the Oyster, but wanted a pushchair that goes from birth and it only goes from 6 months, so would need to get the carrycot...

....then I saw the Bugaboo Bee Plus which seems to offer everything that the Oyster is lacking...I'm just a bit worried as I have read quite a few negative reviews on here about the Bugaboo and just wondered if things have improved since the last "faulty batch" which I understand went out in January...Has anyone got one recently and what are your thoughts on the Bugaboo?

Also....my head is telling me that the BJCM is the winner....the only downside being that baby can't face you as only FF.

What do you think?!! (I wish I was better at making decisions by myself, but it's not working!!)

Thanks :)

Baby jogger are bring out a new pushchair in July/August called the Versa which will be parent facing as well.

Have a look at the Mutsy Evo because its very very similar to the Oyster, but better, and it includes a carrycot in the price. The quality, fabrics, handlebar etc are all much better. The seat also does lie flat and is suitable from birth, so you can use that instead of the carrycot should you wish.

I prefer both these two to the Bee which really is an urban pushchair ie isn't one to take to the park or on a bumpy path or track with. And at some point you will take a pushchair on more than a flat pavement!

As Suzan says, have a look at the Baby Jogger Versa and also the Easywalker June. Information on all of these pushchairs is here and I suspect will take some beating in future.

Hello! That site is great, thanks for link too! Tiggywunkle, you did tell me about Mutsy Evo and am keen to see but I can only find one NI stockist and they do not have it yet! Dandileeno, wee too loved Oyster but there were a few niggling little annoyances such as actually getting seats out of chassis and the hood not going back properly, oh and the display model having a broken wheel! (!!) Went to try to find Mutsy Evo and fell in love with Uppababy Vista which is a bit bigger and designed to use the carrycot at birth, but is an absolute drean to chop and change, and materials so comfy and well mad. Perhaps not what you after, but worth a look if never seen! YOu sound as confused as us, btw!!!! Too many options!!

We've got the Oyster and obviously you do need the carry cot for newborn as you mentioned.

However, not to put you off, but we're now having some issues with it 18 months down the line.

When it is parent facing (which we still do most of the time as I like to see DS!) it is hard to put things in the basket underneath and you can't fasten the bottom of the raincover properly as it seems to gave been designed with the seat forward facing.

When it is forward facing, it is difficult to fasten/unfasten the apron as the press studs seem to be between the seat unit and the frame and when the seat is fully upright (which isn't very upright, but that's another story) it can be tricky unzipping the hood extension because of where the end of ths zip is.

DS also seems to be slouched in the seat no matter what we do.

We do love our Oyster, but are starting to get a little dissillusioned with it now and are looking at what we can get to replace it Sad

Tiggywunkle · 17/05/2012 16:23

The slouching is my biggest issue with the Oyster.
