BJCM vs umbrella fold buggy - please tell me I'm right!

I'm going to see my parents in about a month -I'll be travelling down by car but coming back on the train.

Today my mum questioned whether I could 'manage' with the bjcm on the train by myself or whether an umbrella fold buggy would be easier.

For once in my life I really don't want another buggy! DD is only 8 months old and needs to be able to recline. She sleeps really well in the bjcm and it's strong enough to take a huge bag on the handle. I can't see the merits in an umbrella fold for this journey...

Am I right? Or am I wrong?

You are right.bjcm is as light as an umberella and easier to fold. No contest!

How much easier does it get than a one handed fold, plus it is sturdy enough to hang a bag off the handle?

You are right. And any time I've gone on the train with any kind of pushchair I've had lots of help from other passengers (without asking) and have never had to fold it. Far better to have a buggy you know and that you and your daughter love.

If I can happily take my Joolz Day on the my weekly commute by train, then you can certainly use your BJCM. If you find any need to fold it then it'll be the perfect pushchair for the job. If you haven't taken a pushchair on a train before, make sure you get off the train backwards. I learnt the hard way. Wink

You are right. I LOVED my BJCM and used it all over the UK train systems when we visited last summer. The one-hand fold made getting on and off a snap. Also, if your DD sleeps in it well, why would you change it for anything?

BJCM is much easier while travelling/away than an umbrella fold...as you already discovered, you can get a good size bag to hang from the handlebar, also it's v comfy for your child to nap in. The play tray turns it into a high chair substitute too. It's quick and easy to fold. It can be packed away easier than an umbrella fold really...
