Silver Cross Zest vs Pop and/or other cheapish light small buggy

Hi all.

Can anyone explain to me the differences between the Silver Cross Zest and Pop? And give me any views on either? The Zest is a Which? Best Buy but they don't review the Pop. I've just seen the Pop in Mothercare and it seems to cover most bases, and has a v good extending hood/visor.

I'm looking for a lightweight, easy to fold, cheapish (around £100, might push to £150) buggy for the boot of the car/out and about. We would like a decent hood/sun visor.

Have also looked at the Cosatto Supa Lite or whatever it's called, and the Maclaren Triumph.

Thank you!

How about Zeta Vooom? Cheap and really good value with a large hood. Or BJCM if you can stretch to it, or get second hand.

I hated the pop - the breaks never worked properly and DS used to roll off down the bus....

It just never felt right to me and I ended up getting a BJCM.

spaceal · 26/03/2012 20:03

Thanks.

Thought I might get recommended the BJCM - it's what my DP wants but I think it's a bit more than we need to spend. Is it light enough and easy to get in the boot etc.? I know it collapses easily but...

Never heard of the Zeta Vooom but it seems to get good reviews on the net. Who makes it? Why can't you buy it anyway 'reputable'?

I think you can get an umbrella type buggy that's much better then the pop. The BJCM does fold nice and is lightweight.

Depends if you'll use it much or keep it for more children etc. I'd use my again if we had another. Wish I'd started with it.

spaceal · 26/03/2012 20:17

AllShiney did you mean you can or you can't get an umbrella type that's much better than the Pop?

Anyone got any good/cheap places to get a BJCM?

Thanks!

I just meant that if you need an umbrella buggy there will be better options then the pop.

My BJCM came from boots on special but I'm not sure now.

What better options for an umbrella buggy can people recommend?

I've got a bargain maclaren globetrotter en route to me, which I hope will be fab. It weighs next to nothing, decent height handles but has a small recline, but is more upright than the triumph and has a taller seat back too.

HTH

Zeta Vooom is made by Baby Travel. Think they have a showroom in the West Midlands if you are near there, apart from that I think they just sell online

I am really pleased with mine, the handle height is very high which may not be good if you are petite.

Honeydragon · 27/03/2012 20:36

Codnchips where'd you get your bargainous globetrotter?

spaceal · 30/03/2012 15:54

Just to say safmellow I went and ordered a Zeta Vooom. Ordered it yesterday, and it arrived today. Just had our first outing and all seemed to go well. My DD seemed comfy and pushing it seemed ok. The hood is nice and big and all seems easy to put up/down, adjust etc. We'll see how it goes over the weeks but for £50 you can't really complain!

:) :)

Yeah that is what I thought when I got mine, if it lasts a year I will be more than happy. What colour did you get? Mine is plum, reminds me of Ribena!

spaceal · 31/03/2012 19:46

"Warm" Red - I wanted the brown but for some reason the price of that one was £20 more.

Lovely :)

Yeah I think they put the price up on the popular colours - have you seen how much the leaf is??!

Enjoy x
