Used carrycot - do we need a new mattress? (iCandy Peach)

I have literally just won on eBay a used iCandy Peach - carrycot, stroller, footmuff and parasol for £350. (Retail for all approx £900). So feeling chuffed with my bargain (at least, I think it's a bargain!)

This is my first ever buggy purchase as I'm expecting my first. So I want some advice from you pros. :)

I know you need a new mattress for a new baby with cots/cribs. Presumably it is the same with carrycots? Only I've never heard about it and am not sure if you can get a new mattress for the Peach.

Thanks.

I would. Also if you plan on using the carrycot as an occasional overnight bed for the baby when visiting friends/family you will need a proper ventilated type mattress anyway. Usually the ones they come with aren't suitable for overnight.

but remember that the carrycot must also be ventilated for overnight sleep, I can't quite remember if the iCandy Peach carrycot allows that, better check with a retailer, no need to say you have one already, just pretend you are a potential client !

Thanks. It does specifically say it is suitable for overnight sleeping. So I would assume the mattress it comes with is also suitable.

I just wonder how I can get a new mattress to fit, as all carrycots seem a bit different.

You can buy an icandy peach carrycot mattress seperately, just call an icandy retailer (I bought my peach from babynest.co.uk and I know they sell any of the accessories). Think about £40 but stil a bargain
