"My name is MotherGeek & I'm a pram-o-holic".
My 9 month old son has had 4 already, and I am now shopping for a double!!

I know everyone's needs are different, but I was just wondering if you had to recommend one pushchair you've used above all others, which would it be & why?

And which did you hate the most & why?
(It doesn't matter if it's a single, double, pram, stroller, etc).

I'll start:
I LOVE: The Graco Symbio B because it meets all needs from newborn to toddler & is super easy to steer.
I HATE: The Chicco CT06 - bought it for holiday & it broke after 2 days' use. It's so true - you get what you pay for!!

no no no.

Buzz =Evil

It looks so lovely from above but has a back end the size of fucking mars!

Tiggywunkle · 24/03/2012 14:04

Try a Joovy Ergo and you would be glad of the Buzz!!

Honeydragon · 24/03/2012 14:11

No thanks Grin

Joovy are on my avoid list too

Ringo81 · 24/03/2012 16:40

Absolutely hated my mamas and papas pliko pramette and the stupid M & P stroller I bought to replace it!! I will never buy a mamas and papas buggy again!! Loved my P &T vibe v2 as a double, not so much as a single though - too heavy. At the moment I'm loving my Out n About nipper V2 single as its really light and great for dog walking. I've also got a maclaren quest which is proving to be indestructible as it gets thrown about everywhere and left at nursery and by the end of the day is buried under about 20 million other buggies!! The problem with the maclaren is that my son hates it, he looks really uncomfortable in it!

Tiggywunkle · 24/03/2012 18:41

Lets not tar the Ultralight with the same brush as the Ergo! The Ultralight is quite good fun and pushable and quite neat.
The Ergo is practically unpushable unless its going in a straight line. What were they thinking of putting such teeny wheels on the front of such a long tandem? Also the front seat is horrible - really hard an uncomfy. All round simply horrible TBH.

Superene · 24/03/2012 18:56

Tiggywunkle, did you really own all those? Blimey!
I had two, the maclaren techno xlr which has been utterly brilliant for both DCs and still going strong. Although the brake has always been dodgy. And a joovy caboose which is getting a bit unwieldy with a 3 yr old and a 14month old. And redundant now dc1 scoots everywhere. Although had they existed when I bought my maclaren I would have got a baby jogger instead.

TribbleWithoutACause · 24/03/2012 19:53

I HATE the Quinny Buzz, tis the devils codpiece!!!

I love the BCMJ!!!

JarethTheGoblinKing · 24/03/2012 20:02

I always feel an urge to warn the pregnant ladies in Mothercare to NOT BUY THE BUZZ but ignore it.

I have been known to suggest that they take it for a test drive around the shop though -to see if it fits down the aisles-- Grin

JarethTheGoblinKing · 24/03/2012 20:03

strikeout fail

Meglet · 24/03/2012 20:07

Love the mothercare urban detour 3 wheeler. Ours has been used for over 5yrs now and despite being a bit battered it pushes beautifully, even for older kids.

Hate, any stroller, Hideous things you have to use two hands to push with. Got one once (when the 3 wheeler had a puncture) and lasted to the end of the road before having a tizz and coming back.

stressheaderic · 24/03/2012 20:09

A lone voice here but the Maclaren Quest is the easiest buggy I've ever owned, light, comfortable, robust, good footmuff - just simple but brilliantly effective really.

trikken · 24/03/2012 20:15

Love Mothercare Urban detour. Soo easy to push and good amount of space under it for shopping.

GreyTS · 24/03/2012 20:17

Loved my Quinny Buzz and Bugaboo Cameleon, still loving my Bee. Hate my Maclaren Quest, hideous to push but keep it as its the only one DM and MIL can use and handy for flights. Still undecided about my P&T Explorer. When all the above were in the house I always chose the Bee so I guess it's my fav

JarethTheGoblinKing · 24/03/2012 20:18

The Buzz was great until DS was about 8mo and then it was just too front heavy.

AnaisB · 24/03/2012 20:57

I'm with ringo in never buying a mamas and papas pram again. I have a sola, which is OK when it works, but has a tendency for the wheel to fall off at inopportune moments. I've had an Urbo, which broke and was replaced by a Sola, which broke and was replaced by another Sola. (All in the space of about 8 months.)

Tiggywunkle · 24/03/2012 21:06

I have an Urbo and a Sola. I love the Urbo although there's zero suspension. But it's neat. The Sola, I really do not get on with. It's so long - I got wedged coming out of a changing room the other day with it! Why does the handle not have more positions on it? It's back heavy too. The seat ratchets up when I pull the hood up. It completely fills my boot. I think it's worse than the Buzz!

Honeydragon · 24/03/2012 21:31

I love the Urbos, that's the one pushchair that would make me consider breaking my vow of FUCK YOU MAMAS AND PAPAS YOU SHITTY CUSTOMER SERVICE WEASELLY FUCKERS.

stressheaderic · 24/03/2012 21:56

Nowt to do with pushchairs but I too would never set foot in a Mamas and Papas ever again and would be happy to stand outside there with placards to warn first time parents not to chuck their money away.

Heswall · 25/03/2012 09:12

M&P Pranette seemed prefect on paper but my newborns legs wherein the air whilst his head disappeared down under the hood, it didn't seem safe so that went. I like the Loola with the maxi cosy car seat and the carrycot.
We then used the stokke which has been brilliant, I have a bee which is alright serves its purpose. I am considering a Phil and teds promenade not for the doubles aspect but I like rear facing and I think the sir tyres will be useful as my big boy gets bigger.

MotherGeek · 25/03/2012 16:03

hahahaha there's a lot of hate for the Quinny Buzz!!
Blimey easterbunnywantssomeicandy - that's a LOT of pushchairs hahaha!! Can I ask what issues you had with the P&T Vibe please? Was it a V2? This is the one I am currently saving like a trooper to buy once I have to park up the Symbio B :( (When baby number 2 arrives in June)!! xx
Ringo81 glad tohear someone loves the P&T Vibe. xx

SoozyWoozy · 25/03/2012 21:51

Hate, hate, hate Britax Vigour 3+ - it tipped over going down a kerb and left my baby upside down in the road :( Thank God she was strapped in and wasn't injured. Hated Britax customer services even more for implying it was my fault... and it was only recently I discovered that I was not the only one with the problem.

Loved my P&T E3 sport. Almost love my Silver Cross stroller, seems to be out-lasting all of my friend's Maclarens. Hope I love my Oyster once it gets here :)

Wants3 · 25/03/2012 22:13

We have just bought a BJ city select, we loved the flexibility in single mode but it looks like it would make a really good double option too! Can't wait for it to arrive:)

MotherGeek · 27/03/2012 20:35

oooh soozywoozy - glad to see someone else loving P&T. They seem to be a bit like marmite. You either love them or hate them hey?
Wants3 - lots of people love the BJ double but its too wide to fit through our park's gates - stupid I know!!
I need Graco to make me a tandem Symbio B lmao xx

spaceal · 28/03/2012 16:54
