Lightest/Easiest fold buggy that works with buggy board!

Am looking at getting a new buggy that could be kept in the car and used shorthaul that would be lightweight and easy to fold (if such a thing exists!) and then I also want one that would be suitable to use with a buggy board aswell! Is this all too much to ask???

Would love to hear from anyone with any suggestions!

Currently have peach blossom and nipper 360 (single).

Baby Jogger City Mini is the best I can do with a buggy board on. Or if you have time, wait and see when the Micralite Twofold is being released because that has a built in buggy board and Micralites are well known for small folds.

Thanks Tiggy. Do you think the BJCM is 'ok' with a buggy board or do you think buggy boards are a bit of a pain full stop? From what I can see the twofold looks as though it would suit a younger baby more - mine is for 15mo and (lazy) 3.5 yo.

Personally I don't like buggy boards at all. I am contemplating a Twofold for my two who are the same age as yourswhich I think is perfect for the Twofold. You don't appear to be able to use it with a toddler and under 6 month old from the information that's been released so far. Have you looked at a Joovy Caboose or a Chipolinio Euphorio?

Can I ask what it is about buggy boards that you dislike please Tiggy - i.e. they get in the pushers way, you feel they are not that safe etc?

You seem to be the buggy queen Grin.

I think I might go for one or two (buggies!) more yet!

It depends on the pushchair and the board to be honest. I have used them on say a Maclaren which is a two handed push and you end up hunched over them. I have tried them on pushchairs with one bar handle and its easier when the child stands inside the handle but however much you dont want to, you end up adapting how you walk to suit. I try and pull the handle as far out as possible, but I have found the child likes to lean on the handlebar so that isn't always possible. I have just finished trying a Freerider which fits at one side, and I thought would suit me because I prefer to push a pushchair one handed, but I was still walking differently. I have back issues and when I do walk differently I notice it and I was getting pains down one side. I didn't notice so much at the time but later on. It also as I said depends on the board and the child. Some boards are more non slip than others. My daughter fell off one twice last week and the second time fell forwards and bumped her mouth badly. She was struggling to find somewhere to hold on to be fair. So again holding points on the pushchair, handle width etc are important. I haven't given up on boards - I would like to try the Oyster board for example.

I am sure someone can tell you a buggy and board combination that works well :) I think maybe we just aren't suited to them - but I have certainly tried a few (the first one ever, the wheel fell off whilst crossing a busy street in Italy!)
The Joovy was a lot of fun though and I wished we had kept it. DH made me decide between it and my beloved Peach!

Thanks for your detailed response, it is good to hear of some of the pitfalls that you can experience. I can imagine that your posture could cause problems and it's certainly something that I should consider as I have had neck/shoulder pain (from cradling phone when at work and then holding DD on my arm when I got home whilst walking round doing everything one handed)and then lower back pain as well.

Perhaps i'll start another thread and see if anyone else has any good experiences with them and if so what they are using!

Hope your DD is ok now btw.

Yes she is fine thank you but she refused to get back on the board but was a nightmare trying to "help" me shop!!

Tiggy was your Maclaren one with extendable handles. I am still considering the BJCM4 but wondered if the Maclaren might be easier - i'm considering the XT as the handle height can be adjusted.

Are you using a Lascal board or another type? I have just bought a Lascal and tried it on my nipper 360 and hate it. There's not enough room for my DS to stand inside the handle bars and outside it just feels so far away. Also I think it makes the whole buggy seem really long, like a bus and quite difficult to steer/push. Haven't tried it on my peach yet - will see what it's like on there.

Mind you tbh I hate the 360 aswell - and i've only used it once!

Oh its a while since I used a buggyboard on a Maclaren type pushchair!! I have no idea what they were to be honest!!
