Best place to sell a recent buggy in excellent condition?

I know this thread isn't the sales thread, but I just would like to know where you would advise someone London-based to sell their buggy?

Have you been successful selling on the Mumsnet sales board?

Preloved doesn't seem to have a huge amount of traffic.

And of course the obvious answer is ebay but that's expensive and I think some people have gotten stung selling on ebay.

Also don't know much about the NCT nearly new sales and how they work.

Advice appreciated. Thanks.

I'd try Gumtree next. There's more traffic on there than on Preloved.

If you get no joy then try Mumsnet, especially if you'll be selling other things over the year so the joining fee will be cheaper than ebay fees.

Ah I had forgotten about Gumtree. Thanks!

i sell on preloved and gumtree, but ebay is so much quicker, but can not be bothered with ebay

If you're willing to post, you'll get a lot more interest. You could also try Facebook selling pages. There are some pushchair specific ones, but also local ones.

I have always been an ebayer but the listing fees, final selling fees and paypal fees are just getting ridiculous now!
If you have bits and bobs that only sell for a few quid its not worth your time!
Ive started listing stuff on www.babyswaporshop.co.uk now.

  • just like ebay but for baby gear! main reason being its completely free to sell your stuff. They have local area pages too so if you cant post, you can list it for collection only in your county/town or whatever.
Ive had no probs with them so far (have sold and bought things) and they accept paypal so you are covered through them anyway.

Agree that you are likely to get a lot more interest if you are willing to post which I have been doing through parcel to go (if its a large item such as a pushchair) bit of a pain waiting in for a courier and printing labels off but worth it if you are getting a decent amount for the pushchair.

I sold my p&t vibe on preloved. eBay is too expensive now plus I find people on eBay are tight arses that want something for nothing!!

RunningGuerita · 20/03/2012 10:00

Thanks all. In the end I sold it on ebay and got a very good price (even after fees) so quite pleased. But great to hear about the new website babyswaporshop, it's bookmarked for future use!
