Something cheap and compatible with Britax car seat?

Hi all! So we got our Maxi-cosi cabrifix down from the loft for baby no.2. Tried to remove the cover to give it a wash and DH ended up breaking the damn harness mechanism! We never actually washed it with DD Blush because she was never sick or anything in it.

It was really difficult to take the cover off and to be honest it's put me right off them! So I've been looking at what else is a good fit in our car and the Britax Babysafe plus SHR was recommended.

Now my problem is it wont clip onto my Mothercare My4 chassis! I've got a double buggy (city jogger mini) in anticipation of DC2 as DD is only 2.1, but was planning on just using my old My4 for jumping in and out at shops etc. and so obviously dont want to for out for a brand new (and expensive) travel system when I already have a new double pram.

Does anyone know of a cheap chassis/pushchair I can clip a Britax car seat onto? Or alternatively can anyone suggest another decent carseat/chassis combo that might work for me? I would really rather not buy another maxi-cosi!

Thanks!

I think he might have made an extremely common error in removing the cover. Did he break it at the front ehere the pull strap is? There's a slit in the plastic shell there that can't be seen with the cover on. I can't quite remember how it works but I think you have to slide the pull strap through this slit before removing the cover. I wouldn't let it put you off Maxi-Cosi if it's going to be more awkward to get something else.

There are other carseats that use the same connectors as MC which you could get instead. Eg. Cybex Aton, BeSafe Izi Sleep, BeSafe Izi Go, Nuna Pipa. The Izi Go is apparently one of the safest group 0+ carseat on the market.

If you still want a Britax (and they're also very safe), you could get a Britax B-Mobile to attach it to. It can also go on a Babystyle Oyster if you can find a cheap one.
