Britax Vigour 3+ Fault and what to do!

Hi All,
Posted a few days ago about a buggy, and now have a problem.....

Today my vigour snapped on the folding mechanism, if anyone has one, the bit that when you collapse the pram it separates - if that makes any sense whatsoever! Had it 2 years, phoned the shop I got it from and they said they would send it back but as it isn't under guarantee now I may have to pay - has anyone had this and have they had to pay, and if so, how much?

I was considering getting something more lightweight anyway, my LO is 2, we may have another child so need to keep this in mind, we have the carrycot and car seat for the britax - are there any other prams/pushchairs that fit these,so I can consider something else, or should I look at getting another britax but a lighter one, what do you recommend?

Sooo many questions - sorry!
Thank you. :)

I've had the exact same fault with mine, again after two years! Will be interested in finding out how you get on, if that's not too cheeky.

I am considering contacting Britax to see what they suggest.

If you want a new one, the britax B-Smart and B-Dual both take the car seat and carrycot. The B-Mobile and B-Agile take the car seat but I don't think they take the carrycot. The Babystyle Oyster takes the car seat but the carrycot hasn't been safety tested so you're not supposed to use them together.

Have a look here for which other pushchairs take the car seat.

Well....took it back to the shop I bought it from (the flaw is a common fault apparently) they are sending it back to Britax, but because it isn't under guarantee, it will be £42 to fix. I asked them if I would have to pay postage, and apparently that is postage, and fixing, and they will check the rest of the frame too when they do it. Whether you could do this independently by contacting Britax I don't know.

The man in the shop said it happens so much as people fold the frame and then end up dropping it on the fold bit, hence the breakages. I said well I haven't, it broke when I unfolded it getting it out of the boot and putting it up before taking LO for a walk, and as it clicked together I hearrd it snap. A while ago when I went into a shop with it, looking for a high chair, the man in there saw that I had one and he was the one who told me it was a common fault and they were recommending people put WD40 in the hinge joints to help.

I contacted Britax to see which ones took the carseat and carrycot if we were to get another, they said all of the models do with the carseat adaptors, for both carrycot and carseat. (not the buggy/stroller though, B lite or whatever it is called)

I am considering contacting Britax again, when I have got it back and say I am not impressed this has happened after 2 years, and I have to pay for something I was told was a common fault, see what they say.

Hope that helps a bit? :)
