Micralite Toro - can I travel with it?

Hope the experts here can help - Will they let me take my Micralite Toro on the plane (we are travelling to NZ in a few months). It does fold up well and is light, but it's not an umbrella fold - so can I take it on a plane?

If they won't let me take it to the plane door, can I check it in (after deflating the wheels of course?).

Or will I have to take a Maclaren type umbrella fold buggy?

There's no reason I can see that they'd want an umbrella fold. Loads of people travel with their normal pushchair. Just be very aware that the luggage handlers may not treat it well and it could get scratched, if not squashed at the bottom of the luggage trolley when they unload the hold. There are some airlines that have imposed a limit on weight of pushchairs and some won't allow you to take the pushchair past check-in. You'll have to check with the airline about this. If you have any worries, buy a cheap second hand pushchair either here or in NZ.

I've seen people take bugaboos and other massive travel systems that dint umbrella fold right up to the door of the plane. Can't see why you'd have a problem with a Toro.

OK - great thanks. I've only ever seen MacLaren types on flights, but I will bravely stroll with my Toro (and nip back to the charity shop to buy the sunshade for a tenner I saw yesterday - we'll need that in NZ)
