Best lightweight/ folding pushchair for nursery run

DD (9 months) starts nursery next week. Not sure my iCandy will work for the nursery run, as will take up too much room in the nursery shed. Any recommendations for something suitable?

I'd get something that freestands when folded, like a Micralite Fastfold. The Superlite versions are lighter and have a better recline I believe.

Quinny zapp v light and folds down to a tiny size.

I found the Zapp too upright with the shoulder straps far too high up. My daughter can just about cope with it now at 14 months. She couldn't sleep in it though. I also find it a real pain rt o put up and down (I've used two, so it's the design at fault, not me) and I don't like that it doesn't have a lock to keep it closed. I do appreciate that they serve a purpose though. They're really small and quite light.

Some other compact options are the Maxi Cosi Noa and Babyhome Emotion Xtreet.

A Noa freestands in a tiny square. But if you have to walk a long way then I think you would be better with something more substantial. The Zapp, Noa and Xtreet all have low handles. If you like low handles then look at a B-Agile. If you need higher handles look at a Baby Jogger City Mini. I have used the Zapp, Zapp Xtra, Noa and Xtreet lots but for me it's more of a nip from the car and around the shops pushchair than a regular nursery run. Out of the smaller ones the Zapp Xtra is probably the best for a 9 month old. There's also the Petit Zia which reclines (I think it's the + version). Or get an umbrella fold that lies flat.

I'm getting on a bit now and haven't heard of most of the buggies mentioned above

A decent maclaran will be a good investment imo!

Baby jogger city mini - amazingly easy fold, great to push, comfortable and stands flat against a wall for storage. Far more user-friendly than a maclaren - I had an Xt and would never have another now that I've had a baby jogger.

Nuna Pepp...Suppose to be coming to John Lewis by the end of the month...Mine arived from The Netherlands today as i couldn't wait plus wanted a Wineberry and not sure JL will have that color straight away.

Quinny zapp xtra as someone suggested above wouldn't be suitable as it has to be folded down in two pieces, you have to take the seat unit off and then fold the wheel part.

Yes but it takes up no room and the seat would slide into a gap :) But I think there are better options anyway :o

Thanks all. We've gone for the Baby Jogger City Mini. Here's hoping it doesn't fall apart as quickly as our Maclaren did (thanks, to be fair to Maclaren, to some heavy handed airport baggage handlers).

If it does fall apart (!) then phone Kooltrade. Baby Jogger products have a lifetime warranty on the chassis wheels etc - just not the fabrics (I don't know what the warranty on those is but probably a year). The warranty stays with the pushchair too if you resell it. Their customer service is usually very good too.
