Older vs newer Mountain Buggy? Footrest question...

I have a double Mountain Buggy with the very sturdy metal footrest that has carried as many as two extra children home from school on it.

My double buggy days are coming to an end so I want to get a single MB but after browsing Ebay, I'm confused about the footrests. Do all recent MBs have the plastic footrest? Can it reliably carry a 6yo child? When did they stop being metal?

They sold out to Phil and Ted and moved production to China. Any model that pre-dates the move is probably a good bet. Chariots used to be the dedicated supplier and stopped working with them because they felt that the quality just wasn't as good. That said, they're still probably better than a lot of style over substance pushchairs.

did not realise they had, but if i was buying a mountain buggy, i would not be buy one after 2010, def get a pre 2010 one they are better made Smile
