Does anyone hate their bugaboo?

sigh my head is pickled! Today dh and I did our 3rd pushchair look for our 1st dc due early may. Where do you begin?!? The lady in John Lewis (who was my friends mum and knew I would actually buy somewhere else, so told me "honestly official you were my daughter") completely convinced us into a bugaboo. I do like it, and it did look promising. But not sure why it costs so much more?!? Has anyone been dissapointed?
Could you wise ladies better the bugaboo? I like the silver cross surf (looked flimsy stood next to the bugaboo, basket seemed tiny aswell) and the quinny (dh hates, dunno why?!?)
It has to have 4 wheels (another dh's specification has this thing about it being secure and safe and sturdy for his little one) ideally look cool and funky bright colours ect. We live in a major city in the uk but my parents live in the countryside 40 mins away. So will need to be used at their house and on and off public transport, ideally the baby could sleep in the carrycot For overnight stays at my mils.Needs to fit un the back of a hatchback car, and ideally last through so I don't have to buy another pushchair when dc is a toddler.
Dh works away so I would have to be able to manage the assembly ect by myself. And also be able to carry it. Obviously th baby being comfortable an safe is a must.
I don't even know where to begin! Totally won over by the bugaboo and will buy it if it really is the best. But worried they are a bit "yummy mummy" and emporer's new clothes. Are they really worth it?

Thanks everyone! Very interesting! I went back for a second look today and it has lost its shine a bit. I will look at the upababy vista online now. And I'm VERY interested in the 2012 silver surf. Coz I love the. Silver cross surf now.
I am looking at the chameleon for those who were wondering. You ladies are so knowledgable! How? Where? So you learn all this?!?

We all just have a love for pushchairs and have the sorts of lives that allow us to indulge in far too much internet searching! Wink

I'm guessing you've found pictures, but if not these are the new Surf and the Easywalker June, which I would love to have!Grin I really think the 2012 Surf could be a very good pushchair. The air tyres should make it have a smooth ride and the basket is much better, especially with the additional triagular basket as an extra.

I have the bee and love it. My son is four months and has been in it since birth. Some of our friends are now already onto their second chair having tired of clumsy travel systems. We live in la and have flown back to Britain and around the states and taken it with us, no problems. It folds in seconds and fits anywhere, even in the boot of my beetle. It is comfy for him, really easy to use, and I would recommend it to anyone. I even use it for a pushchsir exercise class with no problems. I bought the breezy cover which is SPF 50 and was great for the Californian summer. Also bought the cocoon for trips to London, and to protect him as a newborn.
I had the dodgy wheels, rang them and thy sent out replacements over the weekend which were easy to fit - it was no trouble at all and the problem has now been sorted.
I'm 5ft2 and the bee has a super adjustable handle so fine for both me and my 6ft1 husband to use.
Sorry for rambling, writing on iPhone!

Oh I have a beetle too! So that's encouraging! I love the June! Where/ when can I see that! The sIlver cross is lush too. I wish there was a big department store where I can try them all in one go! I really appreciate all the advice

We had DS2 last month. Started with the Joolz but bought an Uppababy Vista last week. I didn't get on with the Joolz at all and borrowed a friend's Bugaboo whilst we waited for the Vista to be delivered. I was all set to go for the Vista to begin with and Im kicking myself now because it is fab. So having used all 3 since beginning of Oct I'd say go for the Vista. The price difference between that and the Bugaboo amazes me when I have now decided that DS2 is comfy and happy in the Vista. Oh and they can sleep in the Vista carrycot too as it has a vent thing and is lovely soft cotton inside.

The June's supposed to be out in February/March but I know they've had issues finding a distributor in the UK. I don't know if/when that'll be solved. It'll be possible to import it from the Netherlands and postage tends to be fairly cheap from big companies. But then you'd have to pay to return it if you didn't like it.

aswellasyou · 10/11/2011 21:22

It is annoying that really big pushchair retailers are hard to come by. Independent ones tend to have more variety though.

Has anyone got a quinny moodd and collapses whilst using it?
My daughter is in it and collapses to the floor. Need advice from other mums please X

I couldn't afford a Bee but stumbled upon the Obaby Zezu which is about half the price of a Bee and is basically the same.

Great off road tyres/wheels
The seat unfolds to be a bassinet and then folds back up to being a seat at six months plus.
Rear and forward facing.
Good basket
Great steering - turns on a dime
Lightweight - I can lift it up to our first floor flat.
Folds flat without taking seat out
Doesn't need to be folded for buses as the handles fold in half and it squeezes into small spaces.

I love it so much - I had it for DD when she was six months and now will buy the tandem seat for it as I'm pregnant with DC3. Did I mention it turns into a double? Grin I love it so. I don't know why it's not one of the main popular brands. It's so awesome.

Have a bee3, been using it for 9months now. Taken it on holiday (7 countries) and it drives like a dream. Faces both ways, takes up minimal space, can shop in tiny shops, basket fits so much esp if you get a bag to put rain cover in (bought a cloth nappy bag from amazon).

Only complaint is it doesn't lock in place when folded.

Zombie thread, folks. OP's baby will be four now.

TurquoiseDress · 20/10/2016 11:19

OP you've got plenty of time to choose a pushchair!

If you're due early May then you're still first trimester?

Check out ebay and you can get something great.
No need to buy brand new unless you really want to.

TurquoiseDress · 20/10/2016 11:21

Oh dear just seen it's a zombie thread!

Was wondering why this woman was going on about pushchairs and barely 5 mins pregnant!

That'll teach me
