I have always been rather indifferent about prams, but now...

... I find myself wondering whether we should get a new one.

DS4 is 19 months old. The MacLaren XLR which was bought for DS3 about 3 years ago is a bit... well, knackered (suspension ruined due to chronic overloading with shopping etc ).

DS3 is 3 1/2 years and really, really does not need any kind of pram at all any more, but likes to sneak into the 'available' side of our Out'n'About DoubleNipper which I still sometimes use for shopping or to transport DS1's and 2's scooters back home from school.

So, MN pram gurus, should I look into getting another buggy-type thing? Pushable and foldable with one hand, turns on a sixpence, room for some shopping? Any suggestions? Anything good that might be available second hand (hey, my wedding dress was 'pre-loved' - I am not precious )?

Or should I just use the tired XLR to death??

If you like the XLR why not get another? Equally if the Nipper suits you then try out a single one? If you want something totally different then the Baby Jogger City Mini and Elite are both worth a look. The latter have lifetime warranties on the chassis & wheels so shouldn't die on you!! The Elite may well have enough room for DS3 to sneak a ride home on the footplate!

The baby jogger city elite is lovely! A really god choice for you. Also cosy for winter and wheels that'll get you anywhere.

I stupidly posted this and then promptly went to bed, so was not around for answers.

As it happens, I had a push of a CJCE today and it was indeed lovely. But waaaaay outwith the price range I was thinking.

I gather the City Mini does not have air-filled wheels? Is it still comfy?

I am grateful for any other ideas.

And what is 'Mamakiddies' all about? Are they some kind of knock-off of City Joggers?? Anybody in the know? Ta.

Easylife sport off ebay. A lot like a mountain buggy but less well known, so often sell for low prices.

The Ciry Mini is still comfy - it has less padded seats, non adjustable handlebar, footbrake, no chunky footplate or lift up leg rest as well as small wheels. It's more buggy like when you push it.
