Inherited a Mothercare Trenton Travel System... Do we need the carry cot?

Hi everyone, Our LO hasn't arrived yet but I am already stressing about transport!
We have inherited a Mothercare Trenton travel system from MIL which I am very grateful for.

It will adjust to lie flat however, it doesn't have the carry cot for new borns.

Do we need a carry cot??? Our baby is due end of November and so it will be pretty cold for the first few months. OH and I have NO clue what we are doing and no idea if we will need it or not.
Pram has come without instructions so we are making it up as we go along! Any help/advice appreciated!

Hi a friend of mine has used this pushchair for 2 DC's and is soon to be dragged back out for the 3rd so it does seem to be quite robust but i would advise getting a smaller pushchair to use for public transport if you need it because it is NOT lightweight!

You don't need the carrycot but it is nice to have for the first 3 or 4 months as it is lovely and cosy and it allows you to see your baby. If you're not fussy you can get these on Ebay almost new because they are used for such little time.

Look up either Mothercare or Graco soft carrycot and you should find some :)

I found it usefull in the early days, it also doubled as moses basket.
but you can certainly live without one.

Thank you for the link and I think I'll start trawling eBay and see if we can get one for a reasonable price!

fron memory, i am sure all the boards [sides and base] can be removed and then it fits in the washing machine. they are very nice to have and it would mean you can have the baby facing you as on mine the hood flipped forward you zip on a kind of skirt thing on the front [not really needed though so don't panic if you don't have this] and then put carrycot in facing you like a pram.
