Micralite Toro footrest question - is this right or is there a bit missing!!

QueenOfFlamingEverything · 20/10/2011 15:13

Just taken delivery of a Toro that I bought on Ebay.

The footrest (not the folding bit that says Micralite, but the bit at the bottom of the seat unit that should provide calf/foot support) is just a floppy bit of fabric. It sort of looks like there should be something inside it if that makes sense? When the seat is fully reclined, it just hangs down and doesn't support DS thighs.

Is that right, or is there a bit missing that goes inside the footrest?

Sounds like a bit is missing but i'm no expert on Toro's.

HauntedPramsScreamsGalore · 20/10/2011 16:09

all the pics i have seen show feet resting on that bit, so i would say theres something missing, have you looked to see if it has been hand sewn up, ie its been broken, so broken bit has been taken out and then stiched back up. but i am no expert on the toro but watch this, it shows the footrest close up and then with lo's feet on it.

QueenOfFlamingEverything · 20/10/2011 16:34

Nothing has been stitched or appears broken, the footrest bit is just like an empty floppy pocket as though it should have something inside it to give it some structure.

Hmm. Will have to message seller and ask.

Aha - looking at I think there must be a bit missing, as the raincover needs something rigid at the bottom of the footrest to attach to.

Bugger and blast. If she hasn't got the bit, is it grounds for a refund/part refund/what?

ok i have a toro so will try my best to help, the foot rest is supported by the bottom part of an oval frame that makes up the whole of the seat so I'd be surprised if it could be broken maybe the seat cover has been removed and not fitted back on correctly

QueenOfFlamingEverything · 20/10/2011 16:51

Thank you! Okay... let me have a look. Does the frame come right to the bottom of the seat unit if you see what I mean?

In fact, if I post a picture on my flickr will you have a look and tell me if its right or not? Thanks so much, you are a star!

www.ebay.co.uk/sch/Pushchairs-Prams-/66698/i.html?_catref=1&_fln=1&_ssn=ukpramface&_trksid=p3911.c0.m282
this seller has bocken theirs and so selling off the parts, you can clearly see the frame and the seat cover, you may be able to tell what is missing off yours, i think i found yours on ebay, i can see what you mean, by it being saggy

QueenOfFlamingEverything · 20/10/2011 16:56

The frame only only comes to the edge of the seat (where DS knees are) - the footrest just seems to dangle with nothing supporting it.

i fact thinking about it, remove the cover and if it don't look like this, then its broken/ bit missing

yes no problem but if it's easier for you go back on ebay and search for micralite toro parts and not should be able to find one for sale in that has a picture of the chassis without the cover on then we can try and work out whats happened to yours

HauntedPramsScreamsGalore · 20/10/2011 16:57

Right. The cover is now off and I can report that the part of the chassis that the seat cover fits onto is somehow shorter than in that picture Confused

I am uploading a photo of mine to see if anyone can troubleshoot!

the frame shortens to fit the carrycot you should be able to find a little silver button to press in i think it will be behind the black part that attaches the oval to the rest of the chassis and pull it down to full length

Oh x-posted - a button you say? Right, off to look. Doesn't help that they kindly oiled it before sending so all this fiddling has covered me in some sticky grey lubricant [ugh]

OP posts:
smable · 20/10/2011 17:10

sorry please ignore my phone being weird with the above posts but that is the problem the silver buttons are tiny and on the underside of the frame

trixymalixy · 20/10/2011 17:13

Yy find the little button and it should be fine. Micralite may have the instruction manual online.
