Which pram/ pushchair would suit us best?

I'm hoping all you pram experts can help as I'm completely clueless about these things!

Am expecting DC2 and wondering if you can recommend a pram for it. Here's what I need:

Must lie flat and be parent facing for when baby is little
Must be fairly compact as I'll be getting on the bus (I've seen loads of lovely prams but they seem to have widely-spaced back wheels so would not fit down the bus aisle!)
Something that will last a few years, so can convert to a pushchair type arrangement when baby is older
I'll be using it a lot - long school run!
Must have adjustable handles or be OK for tall people (DP!) to push
No need for car seat compatibility as we don't have a car!
Happy to buy new or off eBay, don't really want to spend more than about £250-300

With DC1 we had a crappy M&P thing and switched to a McLaren buggy when he was 6 months old - the McLaren was fab.

Bugaboo Bee - does all the above re space on bus, facing Mum when little etc. Lie flat good with the Baby nest. We've had ours 3 years - love it, used it countless times,never needed anything else from DDs birth.

Forgot - 200/300 good for an ebay purchase too!

or a bugaboo cameleon, can get them for £300 off ebay,i can get my phil and teds on the bus, so it should go on fine, micralite with carrycot [dp would have to use handle extenders though], maclaren xlr with carrycot,

My sister has a practically new XLR I could have, I had no idea you could get a carry cot to go on it. You may have saved me £££££££££!

I think you'd be surprised how wide a pushchair can be to fit down the aisle of a bus. I've taken 60cm wide pushchairs on buses with plenty or room.
