Babystyle Oyster owners, where do you find used bits??

Been going mad trying to get hold of a different colour pack for my Oyster. Or basically just a used hood that won't cost the earth! They rarely come up used on ebay or gumtree, and naturally are never reduced on any baby equipment websites.

Has anyone got any suggestions of where else I can look? Has anyone ever seen them reduced? I've put wanted ads anywhere I can think of but have had no responses Sad

I used the carrycot constantly for the first 3 months (and a bit more)
I used it as a moses basket too. I checked this before I bought it.

It was brilliant, I'd definitetly recommend it.

Deesus · 10/09/2011 10:14

That's useful to know spangled. Did you have to buy a mattress for it to make it into a moses basket? And if so do you remember what sort you got?

SpangledPandemonium · 10/09/2011 10:17

No I just used the mattress that came with it
I did check that I was doing everything properly when I bought it but you have got me thinking now...Blush

Baby seemed comfortable enough, anyway

Dee / Spangled

I am also pg with my first and mum is buying me the Oyster Smile

I asked in Mothercare re using the carrycot for overnight sleeping instead of a Moses basket, and she said that it was suitable - it has a breathable mattress and base, which apparently is important and not all carrycots do.

She said you could put it in the cot for overnight, I'm guessing you shouldn't leave it on the floor for long periods (fine for downstairs daytime napping I think) so I need to look into Moses basket type stands that the carrycot will fit on to to go next to our bed for first few months.

I like the look of the dark red colour - due a boy and DH is an Arsenal fan so blue is out of the question! Grin

Hi girls, so glad I saw this thread!

I've got my Oyster on order, due to arrive in a month, very excited about it all!

I wonder if anyone else who has one would also recommend getting the air wheels?

aswellasyou · 10/09/2011 11:05

Definitely get the air wheels! It makes such a big difference over bumpy ground.Smile

SpangledPandemonium · 10/09/2011 11:32

I don't know what wheels I have! But it is easy to push so I've had no problems

I used a moses basket stand with the carrycot and it fit fine

I have the tomato colour pack. I do love my oyster.

I also put this on it, which is really useful

saoirse86 · 10/09/2011 11:32

I really did wish I'd got them sooner, especially as they cost less than £30. They're great for uneven pavements too, not just off road. Smile

Congrats stripey!

And thanks for the info ladies - I've just ordered the buggy buddy (amazon one click will be my undoing Grin. Will definitely consider the air wheels, it sounds like most people recommend them.

Mum has ordered the grape colour pack for me - DH not into football so I get to pick colours! Wink
