Still torn - out and about nipper or expensive MB duet for twins?

34w+4 with ID twins and still not got the buggy sorted. DH and I love the nipper but worried it was too wide. We tried a friend's and it fits through the front door and is fab to push. Would definitely choose it if it wasn't for the duet being launched. The 2 plus sides of the duet are the width is even narrower than the nipper and you can put the car seats on it. Can I justify the huge expense of the duet based on that?

hmmm,i had the nipper,was really good to push etc,but it tipped over quite often if my DD jumped in without me holding on to it,
and it wouldnt fit through my front door,
or my local shop door,
or the door of the mum & toddler group i go to....
76cms is really quite wide,especially compared with the duets 64cms,BUT if you dont think door width will be an issue,save yourself some money and go with the nipper

I'd say it depends how important the width and carseat compatibility is to you. It's a real pain sometimes trying to get round shops with a side by side. The one I had was 74cm and often wouldn't fit through gaps and I'd have to walk it backwards out of the gap before taking a different route. I also think you might be quite glad of being able to put the babies on the pushchair in their carseats sometimes. My niece is the same age as my daughter (well 7 days younger to be precise) and it could get quite earsplitting listening to two of them screaming when moving them from the car into the pushchair!

I think I've just persuaded myself you need a Duet!

Yes, one of my horrors is being faced with doors I can't get through eg small shops and at least the Duet should fit through everything a single pushchair does. I have been told over the weekend by MB that you don't need to remove the seat fabric to put the car seat adaptors on which is fab especially for that 6-12 month period when babies may still be in the car seats but out of the carrycots. The Duet should have a good resale value and has a better footrest. My DD could only get one foot on the Nipper one. The Nipper barely fits in my car...fingers crossed the Duet fits better. But the Nipper is much lighter to lift and carry etc. The Duet apparently is heavy to lift.

we have the nipper. it doesn't fit through our front door without taking a wheel off, but that's easy, and weight not a problem yet (dts are 10mo). still love it though for ease of steering. only downside for me is that it doesn't fit on our local buses, only those with front and back doors.

no idea what a duet is, but at 64cm guess it's not side by side? this was important for us, and it's nice now that the dts can share toys/hold hands (looks really cute!)

The Duet is a side by side. That's what is so cool about it :)

And it has full sized seats! It's very clever.
