It's for dd2 aged 10mnths, want comfy seat and ride, size no issue, liked Phil teds on offer mothercare...the old version but they out stock now, had one before and sold as didn't need double but now thinking would have been good single anyway as dd2 is so big and turning into a feisty ball of energy. What about a classic p and t? New one has the quick fold thing.....does the rear seat recline though? Like the old sport. Any other suggestions? I've had loads prams ....need some inspiration! Prefer new, have had 2nd hand once or twice but want new for this budget.

Depends on usage I guess, what kind of stuff would use it for?

Walking in town or off road, public transport in and out of car boot, storage issues are all things you need to take into consideration to get the right one for you.

From what I know P&T's are the best of the tandem doubles but not as singles due to the width and faff to fold etc.

I believe the Baby City Mini Jogger has the best write ups

Ooh have just re read and you ask about the rear seat recline, if you are planning on having another soon then I guess it would be a good option.

Personally if I was buying I would have the Britax B Smart 4, Baby Jogger City Mini or Baby Jogger Elite :)

A special offer mountain buggy breeze is a fab bargain as comes with footmuff and takes 35 kg in the seat so light, strong and dependable. My son is nearly 3 and still gas a bit of growing room in it, so despite being compact enough for public transport and travel its not too small. You would have enough change for the nomads travel cot deal too.

MonkeysPunk · 15/04/2011 11:24

On the mountain buggy website. Outlet section . I do love a genuine bargain.
Ours is fab.

saoirse86 · 15/04/2011 11:44

It looks like they've sold out of the bargain mountain buggies now to MNers . What's this nomad travel cot deal monkey?

saoirse86 · 15/04/2011 11:47

I lied, it turns out I was lookin at the american site idiot. And now I can see the travel cot deal.

Depending on where you'd use them I'd get two second-hand ones, a narrow umbrella stroller for town/shopping and one with proper tyres for more outdoor use.

Something like a Maclaren Techno / Quest for a stroller, and a Mountain Buggy Terrain would be my personal preference, but there are lots of different brands obviously. Look after them then clean them up and flog 'em on Ebay after.

Totally loving all the suggestions and general mountain buggy excitement! Am off to their website asap, does the breeze have a fixed wheel though? And a metal basket? Could totally afford thath though and then get my chicco multiway for dd2 gorgeous big bum! It has super wide seat.....toying with mamas papas 03 also but no no no.......no bumper bar and free float harness no way.....don't want nipper single as loved my double more than I would like the single I think! Am a fusspot indeed.

Don't like the breeze, keep coming back to Phil n teds, old sport version though as way cheaper, comfy for baby and good view and spare seat handy for all the stuff I seem to need to cart about, fold doesn't bug me, like the look of them, like the bumper bar, can't think of alternative tbh! Missed out on the mbug urban as I dithered about the weird stripy hoods! Still undecided as I got rid last Phil teds, but that was because I needed a double to fit dd1 and had double nipper which was better but the width was annoying after a while as she didn't go in much at all, still fancy chicco multiway but it's just a stroller after all and I could get one anytime if I sell some baby bits online so think should get proper pram with my 300! like the britax but looks bit high up for me, I'm a shorty. .......anymore wise suggestions?!

I'm with the baby jogger city mini crowd...

Have the p&t explorer and BJCM - the BJCM is my buggy of choice and much more fun with more features. I use the p&t when 2 need to ride out of necessity. BJCM better value for money. Plenty of change in your pocket too.
