BJCM owners - quick q/favour please?

Hello

Wondering if someone could do me a quick favour. The new BJCMs come with a hard plastic liner behind padding to make seat back rigid (which you can put in yourself in the Velcro pocket at the back) and also an upright strap. All this seems to be is a Velcro strap that goes round the edge of the handlebar that pushes/pulls the seat forwards.

What I wonder is if I reinforced the back of an older model I could use my own Velcro strap behind the seat to attach to the handles to make it more upright?

Sorry not explaining very well, was from a clip saw on youtube yesterday but they?re going to be at least £300 to buy so wondering can buy older one and customise

Thanks very much

I am not 100% sure what you mean but I had an old BJCM and it did'nt seem to be too reclined compared to some of the pushchairs I have had.

A bit late but yes I am sure you could. The differences could easily be solved with a good stiff piece of cardboard or thin plywood or something and you could easily get creative and sew your own sit up strap. It really does make a difference. www.bestbuggy.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/tn_P1180840.jpg The girl has it on, the baby doesn't.

On the American website for baby jogger they were selling the plastic boards seperately to insert in the seat back.
I'm sure you could safely modify your existing model yourself.

They are on Amazon but for a huge £30. I stupidly bought one but it was simply an extortionate price for a piece of plastic. I wsh I had just found some cardboard or something similar.

I have put these photos online for you to show what the 'sit up strap' is like. It really is just a piece of webbing and velcro. www.bestbuggy.co.uk/2011/04/baby-jogger-city-mini-double-2011-review-by-jus/

Hi Guildford nanny,

Would it be possible to measure your PE board for me please?

Many thanks!

Yes I will do a bit later for you.

It is 30.5cms by 48.5cms. It looks like a piece of corrugated plastic. I forgot to take the thickness but it's probably 4-6mm thick. I don't think the thickness matters so much but what is important is that the corners are rounded. If you undo the Velcro strip where the PE board inserts in the back, you will see the seat frame. The board fits inside the metal frame and the frame has rounded corners. HTH
